An erotic story about a woman, the assistant of an art gallery, who gets involved in an impersonal affair with a man. She barely knows about his life, only about the sex games they play, so the relationship begins to get complicated.

Standard 1980's erotic film. What to say about Kim Basinger?
I watched it as it's somehow considered as Kim Basinger's break through. Yes, she's hot, very hot. Yes, it has the Eighties charm. Yes, the music selection is great. Yes, Mickey Rourke was a good looking man in the dim and distant past.
Rourke is consequently living his idea on how a relationship should look like. First the innocent Basinger is ok with it but after a while she starts to doubt the play of being Rourke's submissive doll. However, Rourke doesn't like the idea of loosing his power. And that's the point: this movie isn't about sex and nudity it's in fact about power and control.
I can't understand why this movie wasn't a success (perhaps 'murica was too prude in the 80s?). It's a good movie and a wonderful Kim Basinger makes it even better!
An erotic love story by two of the hottest stars of their time. A big success at the time it came out.
Embarrassing film, with Kim Basinger turning in an awful performance and Mickey Rourke playing a mediocre autistic pickup artist
**This was bad. Just so bad.**
