This is a movie worthy to be called The Simpsons Movie. It goes back to the glory days of the earlier seasons. The jokes are very funny and the performance of all the voice-actors is great. Especially Julie Kavner was fantastic as the voice of Marge Simpson.
There a lot of characters that unfortunately did not get into the movie, or their performance was only a few seconds long. But with a cast of hundreds of characters accumulated over 19 seasons (at the time when the movie came out) its only natural some didn't make the cut. Still, its a shame we didn't see principal Skinner or Sideshow Bob on the big screen.
A lot of cultural references were made into the movie including: Lisa's lecture, An Irritating Truth from Al Gore's documentary, Homer who plays Grand Theft Walrus, from the video game Grand Theft Auto and off course Spider-pig from the movies and comics Spider-man.
If you love the earlier seasons of The Simpsons than you should definitely see this movie. I never had the feeling that i was just watching an extra long episode of The Simpsons, the makers put a lot of work in this movie and it really shows.
"I want ten thousand tough guys, and I want ten thousand soft guys to make the tough guys look tougher."
It has been awhile since I've watched the Simpsons Movie. I used to watch it a lot when it came out. I was so damn addicted to the Simpsons in my teens and the movie has a special place in my heart. I had the "Spider-Pig" song as my ringtone for quite a while and I showed to movie to as many friends as I could. At one point the dvd was in my bag for every night shift I had. Damn, I have seen this one a lot.
And to me it still holds up. It might drag a tiny bit in the final third but it is still a blast. It looks good, the jokes land for me, so many characters I know, the epic ending, Bart skateboarding naked, Colin, Nelson's mom, Green Day sinking, free Donuts, super glue, that evil corporation and loads of other stuff.
I feel like The Simpsons movie is fun for most people and I think to most fans it holds a special place in their heart. I hope. Simpsons isn't at its peak any more but how can anymore top the 6 season run it went on between seasons 2 and 8? It made the show legendary and it must be a huge part of the reason why it has gotten another 4 season renewal which will bring the show up till season 40.
The day the Simpsons will end will be a tough one for me. It has been around as long as I live. Right now we are at season 36 and I happen to be 36. Damn. Anyway, the TV show may have had a huge dip in quality, the movie still holds up for me and Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie will always have a special place in my heart.

The movie is too short, like 2 1/2 episodes long. With that said they need to make a longer sequel. Since if they did I would probably die laughing. This movie makes me laugh every time. While I have seen it, maybe 50 times.
i'm the bomb diffusing robot who kills itself because it's to anxious to cut a wire
Spider Pig, Spider Pig... hehe, that's one catchy tune!
While the film is not streaks ahead of the television series, I'm just relieved they didn't screw it up and make it worse.
If you like the Simpsons, you’ll like the movie.
Never watched the tv show but I found this movie very funny! I've watched it a couple of times and still find it hilarious! Spider-pig, spider-pig, does whatever a spider-pig does!
