So is this the end of Steven Universe? Is there more to come after this?

It was a really fun movie, had a few sadder moments and character building, it's also in my opinion very nicely animated and the songs were just great. I hope to see more of her.

**Word of warning however, I do not recommend watching this if you haven't seen the previous seasons, it spoils major plot arcs.**

There was more than one instance where it made me want to cry.

I'm not gonna lie, I really enjoyed the movie. I recently watched the entire series, so it was a nice continuity. A lot of character building. Though it did seem like over playing the same script with a different villain. I understand the point that you have to deal with your traumas more than once, but it stills felt like too much of a déjà vu.

The best part of the story is clearly the songs. Rebecca Sugar is such a good composer, I am truly impressed. The show already had good songs, but this is one step further!

I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't more gays, not going to lie though. I wish we could have seen more of Ruby and Sapphire or even Pearl with someone new.

And what about the other characters like Lars and Sadie? I want/need more!!

Charming, a beautiful journey through the evolution of all the characters throughout the series. It reinforces the musical section with some of the best songs of the cast, special mention to the songs featuring Estelle (Garnet). Spinel's character (and its animation) are VERY good and a breath of fresh air.

I loved it and disliked it for some reason. The songs were mediocre some good ones in there but also some that went on for too long. Otherwise the story was awesome and totally fits steven universe. Just wish it did better in terms of music and it be a 10. But I guess the show makes up for the music way more.

I'll probably write something a bit longer the next time I rewatch this, but I must say that I've only warmed up to this with time, and there are a few reasons. The main show sets the bar too high, and the songs from this have been stuck in my head for the past five years, not to my dismay. As a musical, this is an absolute joy.

Initially, one of my biggest criticisms of Spinel is how similar her backstory and arc felt to those of other characters, especially Lapis, who shares a similar backstory and both are responding to trauma. However, the sources of their pain are drastically different.

Lapis was trapped in a mirror for thousands of years, the whole world seemingly conspiring against her. She has no one to directly blame and no agency over her imprisonment. Lapis's primary motivator is fear of losing her agency once again, and her one instance of lashing out (not out of fear) was finding pleasure and purpose in taking away someone else's (Jasper's) agency, something she recognizes as unhealthy and refuses to reinitiate.

There are fan theories that suggest Pink/Rose could mind-control or entrance gems into following orders, but I disagree with this theory and find it far less meaningful than if Spinel had agency over the situation (rather than being manipulation, it's a betrayal). She chose to stay because her relationship with Pink meant so much to her, and she rightfully resents being lied to and rejected.

It all ties into Rose—how Spinel's childlike nature no longer reflected what she wanted, and how Rose viewed her power as a curse. Giving her the ability and obligation to enforce an oppressive system, she'd come to despise. Rose's two key decisions were to fake her death to free herself of this obligation to pursue a more mundane, intimate life and to end her life, valuing the potential life of her human child above her own. I feel Rose's biggest struggles are her lack of self-worth and debatable naivety.

She didn't seem to understand Pearl's love for her enough to properly confront her, nor did she seem to realize how her efforts to break off her relationship with Spinel, with hints of a return, would devastate her. But Rose was raised in a society where emotions weren't recognized and people treated like objects, so it's difficult to know how warped her perception of these two characters was, and much of what I’ve said about Rose is, admittedly, conjecture - my interpretation of the show's events, given that Rose is dead. All we can learn about her is through her actions and feelings shared with others, that ambiguity is a feature, not a bug, and is the narrative element that the whole show seemed to revolve around.

The entire situation between Pink and Spinel is awful, leaving one of them hurt and another still hurting, and I still find this movie's portrayal of abandonment heartbreaking. I'll never understand the hate this show gets.

There were at least 30 songs too many. No movie needs 38 to 46 songs. Good plot but even I, a big fan of SU and musicals got bored watching.
