They changed Jumbas voice from broken english, lot of third person talk and vague Russian accent to your everyday American accent. Other than that and Gantu being absent. Great film

Lilo & Stitch is, without a doubt, a Disney classic a beloved film with plenty of merit. However, in its transition to live-action, I feel like part of its charm was lost. They basically took the original film, recreated some of its most iconic scenes that made it a success, made a few adjustments, added some new storylines which, honestly, don’t make much sense and voilà: a classic brought into today’s world.

I have to acknowledge that Disney did an amazing job recreating our beloved alien through CGI. I also admire Chris Sanders' outstanding voice performance, which continues to bring Stitch to life with great authenticity.

It’s interesting to see how this sweet, funny, and simple story centered around a little girl and her alien “dog” still works. Even with side plots that add very little, the movie manages to stay true to the essence of the original, though it doesn’t really go beyond it.

Despite its flaws, the film manages to deliver a softer and well-grounded story about love, family, loss, and, above all, finding where you belong.

Rating: 8/10

:flag_us::flag_gb:In my opinion, this is the best Disney live-action movie so far. The movie manages to add new elements without betraying the original story, thanks to a few well-thought-out changes that help the story flow better. Most of the iconic scenes from the animated movie are faithfully recreated.

The character Gantu is missing, which might disappoint some fans, but it allows for more depth to be given to Jumba. He stays true to his character from beginning to end, unlike in the animated version where his “mad scientist” side was slowly pushed aside. His duo with Pleakley works really well — their scenes are a breath of fresh air and bring great energy and humor. Courtney B. Vance (Jumba) and Zach Galifianakis (Pleakley) both give excellent performances, especially with their physical comedy.

The young actress playing Lilo, Maia Kealoha, does a great job despite her age. She manages to express both the happiness and sadness of her character. She feels very natural and touching.

Nani is one of the movie’s strongest points and a great update to her character. Like in the animated movie, she’s always in a rush, but here she’s written with more depth. She’s no longer just “the big sister taking care of Lilo,” but a full character with her own goals and personality.

Stitch, although fully CGI, looks great — like a living plush toy. He’s not meant to look realistic, and that’s exactly what makes him so charming.

The only real downside for me is the introduction, which feels a bit rushed. An extra three or four minutes would’ve helped set things up better and let the dialogue breathe. Maybe this choice was made to save time for the rest of the movie and keep the runtime under two hours, probably to make it easier for families with young kids to watch.

Special mention to the music, which really brought back childhood memories.

Even though this was a remake it almost felt like a completely new movie.

I’ve said before where I stand with these live actions there really unnecessary but with this the trailer did look really great and I liked stitches design going from animation to live action so I was actually excited for this but I’ve once again got mixed feelings about it.

I just don’t get why Disney calls these live action remakes when they change the story which they did quite abit with this film they literally can’t think of of any original ideas so they just mess with there original classics.

So many silly changes they made with the characters and story like adding another social worker to work with bubbles was pointless he was already a very interesting character no need to add another one and the neighbour was just a random added character these would of been fine if they was in the original film but they wasn’t.

The biggest thing that extremely pissed me of is that they completely took Captain Gantu out and basically just mixed his story with jumba’s I didn’t like that at all making him the villain too absolute joke ,his partnership with a Pleakley was taken away for the most part always liked there friendship wasn’t a fan of them toning down Pleakley either that’s what makes him hilarious his over the top personality.

There is still positives surprisingly considering the negatives this is a strange one because the actual film itself was really good and if they didn’t change so many things I would have absolutely loved it.

LILO and Nani’s characters were casted perfectly and still loved there chemistry and story.

Stitch was still absolutely adorable and funny like his design a lot his relationship with LILO was still great to watch and they did at least keep his main story parts which I love the ending where he says “can Stitch say goodbye” still very very cute and a heartwarming scene probably the best scene copied from the original , the only thing I would of liked is that they kept the Elvis vibe throughout the film as it worked so well with his character they only had like one or two scenes with it.

This was a frustrating watch even though there was some great moments but as I did really want to give this a 10/10 and I actually thought this would of been the first live action to do that but sadly Disney can’t just stick to its source material.

7.5/10

I just don't understand the changes they made and why they made them choices.

I'm fine with adding things to expand the story but to take away from the story really doesn't make sense.

Ah well I'll still have the animation film as favourite.

I TRIED TO BE SPOILER FREE

Overal execution:
This movie is one of the better live action remakes.
It manages to capture every story beat even when removing a whole storyline and creating a brand new character.
The shots they changed and the cinematography itself is done extremely well, without it feeling too much like a shot for shot remake.

Characters:

The chemistry between Nani and Lilo is very well executed and Lilo's disruptive nature doesn't come across as annoying as I thought it might since its now in live action. She truly brought Lilo to life.
Stitch is still Stitch although I feel like he talks a little more than I expected even making use of correct grammar more often than not, another nod to his intelligence where the animated movie mostly did so in terms of battle tactic and mischief.

The comedy between Jumba and Pleakly feels very 90's in the best way possible. Making use of a lot of the home alone type slapstick comedy and the polar opposite personalities to make for a fun collection of scenes.

Emotions:
Stitch has no memories, in the animated film we get to see Jumba feel for Stitch since he never gave Stitch a greater purpose, no memories of a past or family. Here this conversation is held with Lilo, where she reassures him that maybe Lilo and Stitch's parents talked to each other and wanted them to be together. Showing the unconditional childlike love Lilo has for Stitch and vice versa.

Conclusion:
8/10 movie, I enjoyed every second of it and that's saying something as I've not been a huge fan of the other live action remakes.
