Ethan Hunt and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: To track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. With control of the future and the world's fate at stake and dark forces from Ethan's past closing in, a deadly race around the globe begins. Confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan must consider that nothing can matter more than his mission—not even the lives of those he cares about most.
I guess I'm the target audience for this movie because I think it was an absolute masterclass in producing an enjoyable action movie. Cinematography was great, the story was paced extremely well, and the casting of ALL roles was absolutely perfect.
Cruise, Pegg and Rhames were awesome as always, Whigham and Davis were great additions, but the power quartet of Ferguson, Atwell, Klementieff and Kirby, really went above and beyond in making this movie perfect. Not to mention the chilling confidence of Morales as Gabriel, who practically oozed tangible danger.
From the pre-opening credits scene to the final act, you will be on the edge of your seat - especially during any fight scene that involves Ferguson or Klementieff - and whilst there are moments that the tempo slows down to advance the story, it is always completely captivating.
The single, solitary, disappointment comes as the credits roll, and you remember you're going to have to wait until next year to see how it ends.

One of the best movies I've ever seen at the cinema, if not the best. Tom Cruise along with Hayley Atwell acted masterfully. I await the second part

I absolutely LOVED this movie!!
Every second, every Minute of it; I enjoyed it truly. It was my first ever Mission Impossible movie, and even without knowing any of the characters or such I loved them immediately.
Aaaand seeing Hayley Atwell and Tom Cruise acting together Was such a mesmerizing experience. (It's not like I didn't adore the other actors Performance; They all did a wonderful Job!!)

As you can see from the majority of comments here, this is the best Mission Impossible instalment to-date.

Seeing the end of Rebecca Ferguson's tenure in this franchise broke my heart. Ilsa Faust had the best on-screen chemistry with Ethan Hunt. Especially the moment the two had on the balcony telling each other it's their first time in Venice. The look she gave Ethan before cuddling on his chest was so authentic. 😭

People have made an Ethan ❤ Ilsa videos on YouTube like the one at https://youtu.be/EJecPFSKQVs . I approve.

Most notable and important things that occurred in this movie
1. Ilsa's fake death
2. Ilsa's real death
3. BIG BIG BIG call back to the movie that started it all
4. WTF I SWEAR THIS IS ETHANS 6TH! 6TH FEMALE CHARACTER HE CARES ABOUT
overall the film was great loved it im starting to think that gabriel isnt really gabriel but the entity that has taken over gabriels body, taken his memories and is now using Gabriel as a host. But again amazing movie 10/10 will be watching part 2 as soon as it comes out and i have the time to watch it.

I think it very nearly matches the quality of Fallout. Only two things pull it down a notch in comparison for me:
1. I don't think the AI enemy is necessarily the best choice for a story, since it's something that's been done many times and when they just tell you what's going to happen, it takes some of the suspense away.
2. I think the overall moodier tone of the movie is a little offputting at times. I want more exciting action and fun moments. Everybody seems so depressed the whole movie and that's not really what I'm hoping for with a MI movie. I think if there were more action set pieces or a few more moments of levity here and there, it would have helped the tone of the movie tremendously.
That all being said, it's still a solid movie. The darkness does feel earned, and the action sequences we do get are fantastic, so while those points do count against it for me, they don't have a major impact on my rating. I rated Fallout a 98, and this one gets a 96. Both incredibly well made movies.
