The Thirteenth Floor

Highly underrated. Thought provoking. Intelligent.

This film is better than the matrix and will make you more receptive to the assumption that the matrix tried to enforce upon it's viewer, but in a gentle manner even exposing a whole other reality in the end.

This may not be the best movie ever made, but it is a great story. If you're one of the legion left unsatisfied at the end of the Matrix trilogy, then watch this one. It's what the Matrix should have been, and how it should have "ended." Almost 20 years later and it still gives me chills.

This was a really good film. I highly recommend it.

Underrated movie. I remember watching it in 99, and wanted to rewatch it in 2024 again. We got 2024 wrong at the time, we thought we will be so advanced 😉

Nice twists and turns in the movie , enjoyable

Saw about 20 minutes of this movie over a decade ago, didn't catch its name then. Been looking for it ever since, here's hoping it's good!

The Thirteenth Floor manifiesta una idea muy parecida a la de su hermana pero más distinguida The Matrix. A estas alturas de la vida la idea de realidades virtuales sigue siendo interesante pero no novedosa. Sin embargo, eso no le quita merito a ninguna película que quiera jugar con el tema. Menos a ésta que ya le ha pasado su tiempo por encima y todavía logra mantenerse, por lo menos audiovisualmente.

En este caso tenemos un trhiller con elementos sci-fi (y derivados) que lo hacen más que interesante, añadiéndole el misterio necesario para confundir y sorprender de vez en cuando. Lo malo es que se pudo ir más allá del limite y complicar aún más las cosas, ya que a la final eligieron conformarse con una aparente pasión de fondo y reducir todo a unos simples personajes. Pero no es para morirse, así sutil como está sigue siendo una historia eficaz.
