Pretty good movie. The end was a nice twist, but it leaves you wondering why this whole court case was necessary after all. All she had to say was "my informant
doesn't work for the CIA/FBI",
therefore no national security issue. Case dead.

Everyone played their part well, including David Schwimmer (I think he's a total tosser and waste of space...). 8/10

imagine an investigative newspaper reporter having a child in an informal cover as a source, that's the apex

>"A man can live a good life, be honorable, give to charity, but in the end, the number of people who come to his funeral is generally dependent on the weather."

A good film loosely inspired by the journalist Judith Miller. Always good to see films that remind me that journalism used to have integrity and guts... something we need these days. Kate Beckinsale, Matt Dillon and Alan Alda killed it. David Schwimmer just looks like a sad, lost puppy dog as usual.

I literally wanted to punch Rachel. She destroyed one family and her own family for nothing. She can say her source because it is just a kid. What can be happened? Even if something happened, it would be better her mom's murder.

I saw this film on a list of underrated movies and decided to give it a try. Apparently it didn't have much of a release despite high praise from audiences alike. For the most part it had all of the trappings of a drama/thriller... and then it started to taper off at the end. I can't really put my hand on what exactly it was but I felt a little bit unsatisfied toward the end. I thought there were a couple of plot holes. First, how could a writer of her prominence not know that she could be prosecuted for not revealing a witness in this kind of scenario? Second, why on earthy wouldn't she reveal who the source was (I am not spoiling anything here)?
