Some movie, this!

I had never heard of 'Miracle Mile' until a mere few hours ago, when I simply chose to watch it on Prime Video due to its cool poster. With only (a relatively) small amount of watchers on a few sites, I'm surprised this hasn't reached further.

As per with me, I hit play without knowing anything about this movie; I actually knew it was classed under 'apocalyptic' from when I minorly vetted it (checked for sequels etc.), but had forgotten. The early few scenes have an odd vibe to them, though I only mean that positively - it fits perfectly, particularly the subtle omnipresent score.

Anthony Edwards is the only actor I previously knew, well apart from Kurt Fuller (in only his second movie); I also thought I recognised the guy at the diner next to Harlan, but apparently I haven't seen Alan Rosenberg in anything - must be a doppelganger. Anyway, waffle aside, Edwards is very good - nice to see him away from 'Top Gun'.

The aforementioned, coupled with an interesting story and a nice and short run time of just under 90 minutes, are reasons why I'd say you should watch this - it definitely deserves more eyes on it.

So intense and thrilling. Even today...

Very anxiety inducing, and not knowing if it was some kind of prank call or the real deal till the very end contributed to it immensely

Really enjoyed it. Romantic and very tense. Some decisions by the characters are a little backwards but it didn't bother means as it's just a cheap way to build some tension and what it took away from the movie is very minor compared to its sheer enjoyment. It's a disaster movie and a great one.

Romeo and Juliet before the nuclear holocaust.

"Miracle Mile" is a mixed bag with some tense moments that were nearly outweighed by the goofy characters. I was disappointed because this movie can't decide if it wants to be scary dramatic or funny. So it tries to be all three and ends up being just okay. I also tired of Harry (Anthony Edwards) running around to trying to find people. A few of the characters do some pretty horrific things and it is interesting to see the way society collapses.

Good concept but not enough time spent to flesh things out.

Dated.

Too little time for everything they try to do in the plot to take place.

Horrible acting and editing.

But a very interesting idea that could be remade into something fresh. Oh wait, it's already been remade as virtually every disaster movie since.
