Was sceptical at first, but they did a fine job. Eventually. What a thrilling ride.

Admittedly, I’m biased towards this movie. I love the games. I love the characters. I love the beautiful views. It’s a guilty pleasure experience for me to say the least. Are the characters clones to the game characters? Of course not. Do they mesh together several game story point points? Yep. But it’s a quality video game adaptation and I can’t wait to see more!

Rating: 4.5/5 - 9/10 - Highly Recommend

I don’t get all the hate for this movie. It was a fun watch and based off of a great video game plot. What else do you expect?

This is a fantastic adaptation of Uncharted. A truly cinematic experience that stays, for the most part, true to the games.

The cinematography of the opening intro, sequential flash-back and continuation of the film is particularly brilliant. This is a true homage to the structure of the games and captures it particularly well.

The action sequences are fun and sometimes ridiculous, but the soundtrack and Nolan North’s cameo really seal the deal for me.

There are, however, some divergencies from the games which will harm the reception received from fans.

After years of anticipation, the popular video game series Uncharted has finally been adapted into a feature film, with Tom Holland in the lead role. The film features action and adventure, but neither element is particularly thrilling or engaging. Despite holding my attention, I was not fully invested in the story, as the film comes across as empty and soulless. The attempts at humor and lightheartedness often fall flat and the sense of adventure feels off-key. The third act of the film, which adapts a major sequence from the game, provides some thrills and spectacle, but suffers from illogical leaps. The movie is choppy and lacks a sense of place, given its globe-trotting narrative, which is a missed opportunity to create a grand scale and scope. Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, and Antonio Banderas gave performances that lack depth and nuance, particularly Holland and Wahlberg, who seemed hampered by the lackluster script. The film ultimately comes across as generic and underwhelming, reminiscent of 2018's Tomb Raider, but with a hint of a potential for improvement in a sequel.

A seeable movie but maybe not so deep. A bit unsuited comic relief sometimes to not take it too seriously. An utterly ordinary action-comedy, you could say.

However, considering the uncharted games, I had hoped for more adventure movies than it is. But I think I read somewhere the film wouldn't be connected to any games. But they have planned the film since the first game came out.

So maybe the expectations were more significant. I wish it had been a more adventurous movie. But on the other hand, the movie is made, so you don't need to have played the games. Maybe that's the idea of the whole movie. It reminds me quite a lot of a sequel to Indiana Jones but without the unique elements.

I haven't played the game. I watched this completely devoid of background or expectations. I luvd it. Funny, comedy didn't feel forced. (Compared to Shang-Chi comedy that seemed awkward -- in a bad way). Great action scenes. (Unpredictable... for me).
Ramin Djawadi film score was great. I think 7or 8/10 for me. Didn't feel I wasted my time and money.
Oh! Philippine references, some of which were taught in our history classes.
Rant: How I watch a movie (how everyone should?) is based on its own merit, especially when it's fictional... Because, well, everything there's invented anyway. Again, I enjoyed this better than Shang-Chi (which I think was overhyped, and in the end I kind of felt I should have just watched at home).

Quite fun and entertaining to see. And surprisingly the story of Magellan is well told, they have not invented it
