Following the benevolent King's disappearance, the Evil Queen dominated the once fair land with a cruel streak. Princess Snow White flees the castle when the Queen, in her jealousy over Snow White's inner beauty, tries to kill her. Deep into the dark woods, she stumbles upon seven magical dwarves and a young bandit named Jonathan. Together, they strive to survive the Queen's relentless pursuit and aspire to take back the kingdom.
Another fantastically made live action by Disney. Bringing the magic of a original to the big screen in a big and magical way. The film started off a little rough with a little less than fantastic quality, but it quickly turned into a magical musical of an excellent performance by Zoe. Also the actress playing the Queen was a perfect fit. Despite it being under two hours, it felt a lot longer. A little bit dragged out, but that is OK as it allowed for the audience to soak in the magic and beauty of it all even more so. The CGI and special affects of slowing down scenes made this a masterpiece that Disney does so well. I don’t care what the critics and media says about it having a bad vibe of bringing politics into it. All I see is a beautiful fairytale.

I've never understood how anybody could think Rachel Zegler has ever been anything but lovely. She has only ever expressed her love for this story. Acknowledging that it was a wonderful movie of its time but that there are certain elements that we can do better by today's standards and she was right. That isn't hating on the original. You have to actually care about the original to want to do right by it by not falling into the trap of recreating elements that no longer hold up well today. They did a fantastic job at doing just that. The movie is actually quite faithful to the original while improving the development of all of the characters. Rachel Zegler is incredible as always, and I thought Gal Gadot did a great job as the queen as well. The prince was a much better developed character especially, and the way the story was put together I think worked much better here than the original.
That said, I don't think it's the absolute best of Disney's remakes. I think Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid are probably my favorites when it comes to that, but it is a very well made movie that doesn't deserve any of the hate it's been getting. Rachel Zegler especially is such a kind person that doesn't deserve the way people have been treating her, especially by racists that apparently think skin color matters AT ALL in this story which it very much does not.

I had the opportunity to watch the movie **"Snow White"** (2025), directed by _Marc Webb_, on an Onyx LED screen (a first for me, being accustomed only to traditional projectors), and I must say the overall experience was very positive, even excellent. From the first moments, I was struck by the exceptional visual quality: the real-life sets are sumptuous and rich in detail, while the use of 3D and visual effects adds a perfectly mastered magical dimension. The special effects are particularly impressive in key scenes, although there were a few rare moments when the green or blue screen was slightly noticeable, yet subtle enough not to pull me out of the story. The image quality on the Onyx LED screen was especially remarkable, offering vibrant colors, striking contrast, and outstanding clarity. The costumes further enhanced this enchanting atmosphere, staying true to the spirit of the original tale.
_Marc Webb_ provides an ambitious and contemporary retelling of the familiar story of Snow White, managing to maintain a delicate balance between tradition and modernity. _Rachel Zegler_ delivers a convincing performance, giving her character an emotional depth that I truly appreciated. Her acting brings freshness and nuance to Snow White, making her relatable and accessible. _Gal Gadot_, as the Evil Queen, also impressed me overall, particularly in her portrayal of the old woman, where she genuinely excels in cruelty and darkness. However, her performance as the queen sometimes felt slightly too polished, lacking a bit of the truly sinister intensity expected from such a character.
Overall, the casting is excellent and greatly adds to the film’s credibility. Each performer brings something unique and compelling to their character, making the story more captivating and immersive.
I also loved the film's soundtrack and songs, beautifully composed and perfectly integrated into the narrative. Some melodies stood out for their tenderness and sensitivity, while others made me want to sing and dance right in my seat. This soundtrack significantly contributed to the intense emotion and deep nostalgia I experienced throughout the film, even bringing me to tears of joy and fascination on a few occasions. The perfect harmony between this music, the splendid imagery, and magnificent visual sequences created a truly remarkable and unforgettable cinematic experience.
However, not everything is perfect. I found some parts occasionally lacked rhythm, particularly in the middle section where the storyline felt slightly drawn out. Similarly, certain secondary characters could have benefited from further development to enhance the emotional impact. The ending also seemed somewhat disappointing or at least not as fully realized as the writers probably intended. The conclusion could have been better structured or more surprising.
Despite these minor flaws, I genuinely loved "Snow White." It is a captivating, moving, and successful film that I would gladly watch again. I strongly recommend seeing it in theaters to fully appreciate the beauty of its visuals and its enchanting atmosphere. I highly encourage you to form your own opinion of this film, beyond any negative critiques surrounding its release. It is a cinematic experience worth seeing on the big screen and one that certainly deserves to be discovered firsthand. You might be pleasantly surprised by its charm, the unique way it reimagines a timeless tale, its vibrant emotion, and the undeniable overall quality of this adaptation, which, in my opinion, sets a new benchmark for live-action films.

With all the negative press this film received before it even came out, I thought it would sux. Then I listened to the soundtrack months before I sat down to watch the film, and I was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable it was.
Like many classic Disney musicals, the music was one of the highlights of this film. The new songs were great. As good as the best of Pasek & Paul in The Greatest Showman and Dear Evan Hansen. They managed to blend the old and new songs so the old songs do not sound dated, and the new songs feel like they have always been there
Rachel Zegler was very good here, probably better than she was in West Side Story. I can't imagine anyone else as a live action Snow White.
Gal Gadot was OK. Technically, she wasn't evil enough, but that might have to do with the film rating and how dark Disney is willing to push their biggest princess film.
Ever After was my favourite adaptation of Cinderella. They used the setup of the story and made it their own. I think Disney managed to achieve something similar here. All the criticism about the dwarves vs bandits, and how much this film deviated from the original kinda missed the point that it's trying to be its own thing.
This was not a perfect film, but I don't think it deserves the negative backslash it received.

'Snow White' is a remake worth its salt. Disney (deservedly) have a reputation for churning out remake after remake, many of which aren't necessary whatsoever. A "reimagining" of a 1937 movie 88 years later via a different form is, in my opinion, a perfectly logical choice of flick to redo.
For my money, this successfully improves upon 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'. Don't get me wrong, the original is an undeniable classic and has certain things going for it - e.g. the beautiful animation - but judging them solely as movies, this has more substance to it.
I honestly don't hold any negatives for it, that isn't me saying it's a perfect film or anything close but I had a very nice time seeing it; I'd imagine it'll age well in the future, particularly for families that grow up with it. Visually, the movie looks vibrant; really colourful.
The musicial numbers are good too, I especially dug new song "Waiting on a Wish". Looking at their work, I do like music by Pasek and Paul. I love the soundtrack to 'The Greatest Showman' and did enjoy what they did for 'Aladdin'; namely "Speechless".
As for the cast, Rachel Zegler works as lead. I admit I had heard negative murmurs online about Zegler in the last few years back when I used Twitter properly, but in recent times I've seen some interviews and she seems cool (if clumsy?). I've watched her in a few films now and I rate her.
I think Gal Gadot's Evil Queen is the weakest part, though only when compared to the rest. Gadot's performance is good, I was particularly impressed with her in terms of the music pieces. It's more so that anytime the character appears, I wasn't as interested as with SW & Co.
Andrew Burnap is solid in the usual love interest sorta role. I have found the dudes in these other remakes from this company to be quite forgettable, even whilst viewing, but Burnap stood out a little more for me. Of those away from the aforementioned, Patrick Page suits his bit.
The Seven Dwarfs, to me, looked great. I do believe that having actual humans in the role would've been better, though the effects used for those characters here looked pleasant and the voice actors give more than satisfactory showings; albeit with no overt standout performer.
As alluded to above, I did hear about the many issues surrounding this release; admittedly without any deep detail. Quite the mess, it hit every branch of the way down it appears. Looking at IMDb, you think it's been review bombed by any chance? Lol. I thought IMDb fought against that sort of thing?
Anyway, I really typed up nine paragraphs about this movie, huh. Well I did very much enjoy it, so... ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Haters are always going to hate, but this movie objectively did exactly what it was supposed to do. It was feel-good, charming, wholesome, uplifting, and romantic. Each actor embodied their role perfectly and the singing was gorgeous as well. I have little to no pointers here.
Oh, and if you live in some delusional notion that the original cartoon was “so much better,” then I suggest you watch that movie again now that you are no longer 9 years old, because I’m sure you’ll be forced to recognize that this remake genuinely had a better plot in every aspect with also more depth to each of the relationships.

I don't get the hate. Won't make many people's favorite list of movies but it won't be on any reasonable person's list of terrible films either.
