Rush Hour 3 (2007) – Review

I give 9/10.

I don’t understand why Carter is just a traffic cop in this one. Wasn’t he LAPD? He said he wanted to stay, so what happened? It’s 2007 in the movie, years have passed, and they’re older now. It’s a bit sad to see that.

I also don’t really remember watching this one before, even though I watched the previous Rush Hour movies. And when Carter mentioned “Iranian terrorists,” I didn’t understand why — it felt random and didn’t fit.

Still, it was a funny movie again. It makes you forget everything for a while. Jackie Chan’s stunts are great as always, and the humor still works.

I’m happy there will be Rush Hour 4 in 2026. Looking forward to it.

Quite simply: if you like the first two, you will enjoy this one. It’s a whole bunch more of the same, with a slightly worse plot and fewer jokes. It’s very watchable and I have no problem recommending this to fans of the first two, even if this one has less memorable parts. I am still hoping the fourth one eventually happens.

Rating: 2.5/5 - 7/10 - Worth Watching

The 6 year difference from the second movie to the third was a bit of a bummer, part of the charm (to me) in the first two movies was the late 90s, early 00s feel to it. However, just like the first two it's a mindless movie to watch, and best watched when in the mood for turning your brain off.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhh, its not a bad film but honestly it is nowhere near as good as the first two films because this film focusing on the laughs a lot more than on the story or the action. Lets start with the positive which is Jackie Chan (Inspector Lee) and Chris Tucker (Detective Carter) are still perfect as these characters and still have great chemistry, but another being that Hiroyuki Sanada (Kenji) is flawless in this film because he plays the opposite to Inspector Lee perfectly as it shows you what he would have become if he had a different up bringing.

Now I usually say turn off your brain when watching films like this, but I am sorry to say this film jumps the shark way too many times and the main one being why would these characters have any jurisdiction in France and this bugged me the entire time because except for the scene in the airport, no one ever brings this up and all I kept thinking was in real life these guys would have been put in prison for all the things they have done in his film. Also, the action in this film was super disappointing as you can see the JC Stunt Team were not involved for the most part and Jackie still does his thing but not to the level he usually does.

Is this a bad film, no but it is just OK and I'd say its fine if you just want a laugh with the family but even the comedy gets very boring. They are talking about doing a Rush Hour 4 and I would love this film to focus more on either Hong Kong or LA as I feel those need to be explored more.

A third part that was not strictly required. The managed to still make a solid movie, but it does not reach the first two In quality. Good light entertainment. Don’t think, just enjoy.

Part 2 even had more of a plot. Chris Tucker is at his most annoying yet. Despite that Rush Hour 3 is at least watchable when you're bored.

Roman Polanski appearing in a Brett Ratner film.. Could not make this shit up. Look forward to Rush Hour 4 directed by Victor Salva with Woody Allen cameo.

This movie wasn't as great or funny has the first two films, but nevertheless it was enjoyable to watch.

Following every trope of a part 3, _Rush Hour 3_ is mediocre schlock. After the attempted assassination of Ambassador Han at the World Criminal Court, Insp. Lee and Det. Carter set off to Paris in order to find the Triad responsible. It’s an incredibly stupid and trite story that isn’t told very well. And, Tucker and Chan chew up the scenery. Still, the action is exciting (for the most part), and there are some bits of humor that work. Yet while it’s entertaining at times, _Rush Hour 3_ is an uninspired and soulless film that’s just going through the motions.
