Good plot but slow on delivery. Action for sure. The ending wasn't expected and was satisfying. Anything with Jason Statham is worth watching

Well, it is a Statham movie, but an English one.
This fact makes to feel quite different from the American movies of the guy. At times, it feels less professional and even a bit cheap, but in the end, it is good, solid entertainment.
A decent movie and a must-see for fans of the man.

For a Jason Statham film, this was a real snooze-fest. It's a good thing I was eating while I watched this (for at least the third time? that's how unmemorable this is...) otherwise I would have fallen asleep. It wasn't a "bad" movie, but it's definitely not your Jason Statham action-packed, fight-filled gangbuster movie...more like a police drama story with a surprise ending but man, it took its sweet time getting there. Like others have pointed out, it had so many subplots that made absolutely no sense and added NOTHING to the film: the Falls character that "falls" off the wagon, the death of the detective's wife, the funeral, etc etc etc... So much of this seemed to be just very confusing "filler" material because it added nothing. As a story, I can give it a "7", but that's being generous, and also giving kudos to the villain (he was superb). Statham's part in this was very uninteresting and failed to keep my attention. Like I said, I think this is the THIRD time I've watched this, but I'm making notes here so I won't bother watching it ever again.

Decent film. If a boxer has a hold-me-over fight to stay ring sharp, this is the movie equivalent for Statham.

Solid supporting cast. Good if unspectacular plot. Direction and soundtrack are a little cheap which slows the film down at points, doesn't make the hits hit as much as they should... but easily watchable.

The fact that Statham is wisecracking makes up for the shortfalls that him not doing lots of action leaves.

Imagine a madman whose only job is to kill cops — and he’s terrifyingly good at it.

This crime thriller follows Tom Preston (Jason Statham), a London police detective assigned to a brutal case: tracking down a mysterious killer known only as "The Hunter," who is targeting and executing police officers with chilling precision. As the investigation unfolds, Preston finds himself locked in a deadly game of cat and mouse with a professional assassin fueled by a personal vendetta against law enforcement.

Story:
While the plot feels familiar, it still manages to stand out — after all, it's rare to see a killer whose sole mission is eliminating cops. That twist adds a dark and intense edge to the narrative.

Acting:
Jason Statham delivers as expected — reliable, tough, and sharp in the action scenes. The villain's performance is decent, but unfortunately, the lack of a strong or believable motive weakens his presence and makes him less memorable.

Themes:
The film also touches on an intriguing concept — that the law can sometimes protect the guilty, not because of legal loopholes, but due to insufficient evidence. It raises uncomfortable questions about justice and how far one can go in seeking it.

Age Rating:
+18 – For violence, dark themes, and intense action.

Rating:
🔹 6/10 – A gritty crime film with solid action and an interesting premise, but let down by a weak villain motive. Still worth a watch if you enjoy dark thrillers and Jason Statham in tough cop mode.

Not Jason Statham's best movie, but it's worth a watch.

Blitz (2011) - ❤x6

This was sadly a subpar Statham action movie. It just wasn't that good.

How I rate:
1-3 ❤ = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6 ❤ = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8 ❤ = I expect you will like this too
9-10 ❤ = movies and TV shows I really love!
