Adopt a Highway

Russ Millings has just been released from prison after serving 21 years for a 3rd strike conviction for possessing an ounce of marijuana. As he tries to adapt to a world he doesn’t recognize – including trying to learn how to use the internet – he finds an abandoned baby in a dumpster behind the fast food restaurant where he works as a dishwasher. Unsure of what to do, and caught between impulses of kindness and panic, Russ soon realizes this could be his chance at redemption.

A small movie with a big heart. Great performance from Hawke and a promising directorial debut from Green.

Short and sweet also a little warming at times. A simple performance from Ethan Hawke knowing he's been in better roles and being a great actor and all and that's thanks to Robin Williams making his acting career bigger from the film Dead Poets Society.

Ethan Hawk did a great performance, but I thought the writing of his character was pretty flawed. He was in prison for 20 years, and once he gets out, he’s basically trying to start a new life, but the portray is character as a complete retard. But anyways it’s a decent short mellow drama that’s worth watching. Nothing I would ever go back too, but my wife and I enjoyed.

This was the most boring, pointless movie I've ever watched. There is limited dialogue in the film and the plot can be summarized in a single sentence: An ex-con finds a baby in a dumpster, turns it over to DCFS, then leaves the state to start a new life. The first part of that sentence takes up 2/3 of the movie and consists almost entirely of listening to a baby loudly cry. The second 1/3 takes place on a bus and consists of a woman telling him her name, favorite color, and astrological sign, then asking him the same about him. I don't know what I missed that so many people are calling this movie "heartwarming" but I certainly didn't feel like I got enough of a performance from any of the characters to feel any emotions at all.
