Don't know where all the bad reviews come from but I liked the movie
Standard catastrophe movie with a series of flashy, over-the-top solutions to every problem our characters are pitted against.
Dumb action popcorn thriller, check your brain at the door and you'll have a decent enough time.
Why on earth do they have reggae music and Rastafarians in Mauritius? It’s not a Caribbean island 😯😯
I’ve been many times, it’s mostly Indian culture
I thought it's a decent survival film. This one very entertaining because how nonsensical it is. It's silly but the suspense is there and it doesn't drag itself out. There's something about this film that keeps pulling me in even though there are countless stupid moments and the characters don't seem believable most of the times, especially the woman lead. I love her performances in _The Perfection_ and _Get Out_ so it's nice seeing her again. Overall it's a fun watch if you turn your brains off.
You can't ask anything better from a disaster movie! This isn't the best movie you'll watch in your life, it's just entertainment. Leave it at that.
Don't try this at home comes to mind a lot...6/10.
It isn’t as bad as other reviews make it seem.
tldr: it's a passably interesting action movie, just suspend disbelief a lot and it makes for nice background tv. you can look away and do something else for ten minutes and not really miss anything.
my main takeaways:
1. i thought this was the supernatural chloe grace moretz thriller that recently got released because also planes and i was half asleep when i pressed play. this made it more disappointing so don't do like i did.
2. i think i've sorted out allison williams. the only times i've liked her acting she's played emotionally empty shells, and in this movie every display of emotion felt deeply insincere, so there's one of two possibilities: she might just be a sociopath irl or she genuinely just sucks at acting.
i started watching this it looked like it wasnt going to be very interesting so i turned it off after 15 minutes
Watched because I enjoy bottle movies, survival movies, and Allison Williams, but a boring plot and lacklustre performance from Williams left me disappointed. Even when suspending disbelief, the movie is still pretty much a snooze fest throughout. Not the worst, but definitely not even close to the best.
