Hot Gimmick: Girl Meets Boy

She must be trying to relay the nightmare of being a teenage girl. Sadly I think people will just write it off as a romance movie or comic adaptation that 'isn't doing it right' when it's obviously something more.

It's much better than the 4.4 IMDb rating would suggest, with both some decent acting and uninhibited film-making creativity (for better or for worse). However, beyond disjointedly adapting a lengthy work into little runtime, it's also filled with content that really didn't need to be there – from the involuntarily comedic to the potentially disturbing.

I personally thought the classical music was quite fitting, whereas any other attempts at incorporating music were a train wreck.

This movie was so stupid. The editing, the script, the acting, the directing, everything is a complete mess. Also, I love Beethoven's music, but you can't play remix versions of Fur Elise in the background of 80% of the scenes without hating the score. Don't waste your time on this.
