as teloresumo would say: She got overheated, imagine her husband was killed in front of her.
8 for the hot chick, 2 for the movie.
written for the kids. very poor script.
Not that great. A mid-level B-movie at best. As always, it's fun to watch a woman beat the hell out of a large group of men.
But overall, the story has been told so many times before, and there was nothing new or special added to make this movie stand out from the rest.
How I rate:
1-3 ❤ = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6 ❤ = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8 ❤ = I expect you will like this too
9-10 ❤ = movies and TV shows I really love!
So firmly in the "It's so bad you laugh more at this than at most comedies" genre, that you would think it originated it. Half the movie _sounds_ like it was ADR'd.
The premise... well I'm always up for the premise in whatever form. The "They left me for dead and now I have to get revenge on all of them" is a movie that I'll always watch. _Surviving the Game_, _Revenge_, _Even Lambs Have Teeth_, there's a lot of movies in this genre and I'm here for all of them.
This movie however is awful. Laughably so. I mean the bullet physics alone. I mean the idea that you have a gun that shoots semi-auto and you can't hit but one time from 12 feet away? I've also never hated a protagonist more. I mean sure a lot of these movies involve things only white people would do but sneaking into an empty cabin that isn't yours. Having sex in it because it's too rainy outside to wait and then exploring the cabin? This stuff is why everyone doesn't like white people(1). The amount of contrivances in this movie is worthy of a drinking game in itself. The genre is about one person using a certain set of skills to survive and one by one take down those who tried to kill them. This movie however feels like every time our protagonist could get a leg up the movie tears it down for no reason other than to give her something to struggle with. There are some AWFUL one-liners in here. So bad you'd think they don't understand the point of them. But there are also a few that work. There are some fun ideas here but it's all about the execution that mostly doesn't work. The ending attempts to go for a super well choreographed high intensity fight and it feels as dinky as the music.
Highlights
- "Throw 'em in the gully" and then they get the body and swing it over the gully which based on the way the body bounced visibly was approx 1 foot deep. I watched this scene three times and I'm still not sure if it was intentional or not
- Where did she get the axe from anyway?
- In a scene where they do the traditional redneck thing an play guitar by the fire "I can't play this thing for ****"
- Girl what are you doing
bringing along a pregnant, _shot_, know nothing hostage with you
when you could have dropped her off with
the Sheriff to both explain what you're doing and why. And reveal situation as well as ensure her safety since the Sheriff is the one person you trust
.
- The trap
holy heck the trap scene was hilarious. I was expecting _Shooter_ quality planning and it just ended with one of the weakest branch whippings I've ever seen but it totally killed
someone.
-
Be Ready, I might need you from time to time
I mean holy heck I thought it was over but then they pulled out that one. Just terrible.
[1] Facetiously
This was just a really bad plot.
They killed her husband so she goes on a rampage and kills all of them??
A major part of this story is that she's supposed to be ex-military, ie highly trained - you don't become highly trained in this way by acting with as little logic as this woman. I can appreciate movies made for the sake of action (and even violence/revenge) but I prefer my stories to have a reasonable plot and this one just does not. The decisions she makes (and the decisions made during filming) present a very disjointed and, at times, conflicting plot.
I'm not usually the type of movie watcher that cares as much about the details. I don't care if the gun they shot eight times should only be able to shoot six or if a character is typing gibberish on a computer and it looks like expert research or hacking. I get it, some details are sacrificed for the sake of plot. Whatever. But in this case even the plot itself has huge conflicts that make the movie difficult to watch.
This one wasn't my cup of tea.
I don't know if this was a bad comedy, or really really bad action flick. Either way, it's bad. Worst part is I watched the whole thing.
I liked the revenge thriller concept where she is the dangerous one, but the writing is poor and the decisions by the protagonist are just dumb. Also the bad guys are generic, stereotypical, villains.
refreshing no woke bullshit for once.
but oh my God this is a worthless piece of crap movie. lol.
You'd laugh if you watch some fights in slow motion or frame by frame.
