The Visitor

After a series of tragedies including the death of his father-in-law, Robert and his wife Maia leave their home in London to move back to her childhood home. But when Robert discovers an old portrait in the attic of a man who is his spitting image, he goes down a rabbit hole to discover the identity of this mysterious doppelganger known only as the visitor. It isn’t long until he realizes – where the visitor goes, death follows.
I generally hate horror movies. This is more a devil-ish thriller. As the lower ranger comments say, it's all packed and well acted. The twist that they elude to, was kinda obvious to me, but there's quite a bit of foreshadowing . The final connection between the wife and main character might be surprising, but about halfway through the movie it's a good guess.
I don't like giving movies like this a high score, again because I'm not a horror fan. I'd prefer my thrillers less bible thumping, but it's really pretty good. it's a hopeless ending though, so there's that too.
I would say 7.6 to maybe 8.1, depending on your view about sleeper style horror/thriller. Higher if you into more cerebral content, lower of your prefer bloody, slash style horror.
