Pretty darned solid police series with some great character actors - Stratford Johns (Barlow), Frank Windsor (Watt) and Colin Welland (Fancy Smith) are the standouts. Without Z Cars, The Bill (and a lot of other police station centred series) would never have existed. It's "The Beatles" of procedurals.
