A Certain Magical Index

Touma Kamijou is a student living in Academy City, a highly advanced place in terms of technology. Despite being gauged as a level zero esper (no powers), he possesses on his right hand the Imagine Breaker, an ability that negates any power whatsoever. Touma finds a young girl named Index who is trying to run away from Necessarius, a powerful magic organization that she is member of. Blessed with the skill of memorizing any sort of information, she holds 103,000 forbidden magical books within her head. As science and magic cross paths, Touma must face several dangers amid espers and magicians who appear in the exciting scientific town.

A rather slow paced anime with very little plot drive.
Sometimes seems like a predictable anime since the main character usually saves the girl (in every arc) and one shots the main villain with a punch until something completely random happens and random things seem to happen a lot in season 2.
The dialog is complicated in it self, while the subtitles make things worse, especially when the main character trys to over dramatically lecture the enemy in one of the most cliche ways possible.
But i liked the story's concept of the 2 sides (magical and science) and some of the arcs are pretty good especially the Academy City Invasion Arc.
In short i prefer Accelerators way of handling things over Toumas.

The Hamazura and the Accelerator redemption arcs are a great watch. The big problem is when the focus is on the main character Touma. He is a life coach. He spends 10 minutes of each fight coaching his opponents on their life choices. He usually ends up punching them in the face but that doesn’t deter him, he keeps lecturing his opponents to the very last fight. A lot of characters are introduced in Touma’s story most of them are pretty boring. The women are mostly there to fight him and fall in love with him. Touma lives with a nun that’s looks like she’s ten, you think these grandmas would get a clue after awhile. Most of the men become his bestie that help him out down the road. two redemption arcs were good but having to sit through the tedium of the Touma story is just too much. I cannot recommend this.
