The last true Star Trek. Such a shame it didn't got the end it deserved.

And No, I don't consider the crap JJ Abrahms puts out Star Trek.

Third time watching this show! Amazing! It's a pity that we only have 4 seasons... I agree it was unfairly treated. The theme song is wonderful and it reflects the values and dynamism of the show. The character development was nice and it created memorable characters, each one distinct. Archer is a fine captain, quite different from the other starship captains. But it's understandable, since he is the "first" captain of a warp-capable vessel...

Still the second best Star Trek Show in my book.

Its a tragedy that they canned the show before fulfilling its true potential.

This is a highly underrated member of the Star Trek franchise! I personally rate this as a tie for 2nd place behind Next Generation (and tied with Voyager).

Do yourself a favor and just tune out the last four episodes - especially the last one. And skip that horrible hippy folk music theme song that should never have been recorded, let alone put on a Star Trek show.

I think casting Scott Bakula as Archer was a mistake, he's such a terrible actor - but he's likable enough in this show to see around it.
I think the main problem with Enterprise is what has also plagued other Star Trek shows (but to a much lesser degree than Enterprise) is the silly and constant time traveling junk. Some of it is entertaining, but most of the time travel episodes are corny and formulaic.
Star Trek always tries to bring the era that the show was made into the show itself and I've always found that silly. Every Star Trek has romantic references to 20th century pop culture (just how many pop culture references to the 1700's do YOU make?) and this show takes it a lot further with "Movie Night". I mean, come on already. That is like me talking about a play in 1705 fondly and naming the cast of it (hint: I can't).

In general I think this show is unfairly treated. The first season did have issues but the character development was strong. We got to know more about the Vulcan than from all the shows before.

Third time watch scoring for seasons:-
1[8],2[7],3[6],4[7].

The show showed much promise in the first two seasons, got lost in Xindi nonsense, then produced some interesting double-hitters before ending with a damp squib.

Honestly a great watch. The series shows that even though much of corruption and madness run throughout the galaxy, there is always hope for a better future. Star Trek: Enterprise makes this possible from the point of view and the likeability of the crew. Jonathan Archer, captain of the USS Enterprise leads the crew on an unforgettable journey through space as an ambassador of peace. I could say for myself that he is one of the most influential character in this series, because of his tactics and quality of maintaining peace he and his crew were able to make peace with other worlds and unite with many different planets that have brought chaos to one another.
Quite honestly they blew it in the last season with the holodeck bs, time travelling shenanigans and the Romulan tech that brought the viewers nowhere.
There is a lot more I have to say about the series but you should just give it watch yourself.

9/10

Watching this over again I find that I don't like this as much as I did at the time it was released. Not because of woke, there has always been a messaging of values in the show that mirror the era of production. Nor because the stories tend to be formulaic or derivative of the shows of the past. This has also been a tendency, as much as reusing sets and decor, as well as characterizations.

No, the real issue is the central performance, which I cannot unhitch from Sam Beckett no matter how much I try. It is as if Enterprise is a spin-off of the latter. The other actors always seem to be a much tighter fit, as tight as T'Pol's costume. I suppose one could make allowances if one imagined a precursor James T. Kirk as the scaffold upon which to explain the Jonathan Archer character. Melded to this with it behaving as the Wild West (seat of the pants) in space finding their footing. One feels that the Vulcans should have fitted stabilisers to the Enterprise ship.

Another issue is the 9/11 and AIDS issue sourcing for dramatic punch. Today, with more knowledge this tends to look twee or a Disneyfication, even if moral dilemmas are strongly placed within the storylines. Coming to the storylines much of their inspiration seems to be lifted from other sci-fi shows. Influence one can expect. The trouble with watching a lot of media I suppose. I despaired when it was canceled, but now looking back I can see why. It perhaps is not fair to say this but one cannot help but change as one ages.

This time I scored the show based on whether to watch the episode if I ever come back. I am getting on now so this may not occur, as I intend to go on to watch the other Treks chronologically even if the time travel episodes upset this scheme somewhat. I still enjoyed the journey though, but where I once thought of this as one of the better Treks, now it is likely to fall to the bottom. The scoring for the seasons have changed for me too. Where once I would place those within the arcs as more enjoyable, I find the standalone episodes now replace them, as [if] wells in the desert. The story of the week enable one to detach from a reliance on memory of [an overall] schema. Bad ones may appear but they at least take one off to the side for a interesting side quest.
