The Ark

After some initial difficulties, I began to love the series. The crude claims of it being monumentally bad have no substance in their assessment as the recessionists obviously just haven't watched the series any further. With so little science fiction content being produced lately, it's nice to have something to watch, even if it reminds me visually of Stargate productions.

I really like this show. Kinda close to Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis. 1000x better than Stargate universe.

I didn't mind it .. 8/10 on IMDb . not sure why everyone is rating it so low.. it's just a tv show.. with so little Syfy content is getting created lately, it is nice to have something to watch.

This show brings me back to my childhood when shows has tiny budgets but big concepts. It's good fun to watch and in these days of limited choice it should inspire networks to take a chance on the less glossy science fiction shows.

First few episodes were kinda "meh" and I see where all these negative reviews come from... But! After ≈4th episode the show really grew on me. It's not a masterpiece perhaps but quite an enjoyable experience nevertheless.

At the time of writing this, we are only 2 episodes in to Season 1. I don't think this show is as bad as some comments here make it to be. It's a low budget sci-fi show, with a brand new cast. Just like Star Trek when it started.

The show also features a genetically and culturally diverse cast, without the "Woke" bullshit thrown down at us viewers (at least, so far). I'm going to give this show a chance, and see how the character arcs progress.

I also find it hard to take commenters who don't know the difference between your and you're seriously. :rofl:

This show is the old style of space adventure so many of us have been constantly asking for. I loved The Expanse, so clearly the goofy science bothered me at first, but it made up for it with good story every episode and good characters having fantastic chemistry. Reminded me a lot of the old Star Trek shows and even Stargate SG-1.

The closer I got to the end of the 2nd season, the angrier I got that this team had such a low budget to work with.
It is truly tragic and infuriatingly stupid to me that shows like Star Trek Discovery/Picard and other dogshit sci-fi soap operas get an insane budget, and The Ark barely gets enough to have effects and sets that looks like from 2001. And it's just because people will eat anything if it's branded with well known franchises.

I'm enjoying the show - it is simple basic storytelling science fiction. It is not pretending to be something like The Expanse or Foundation - just a lower budget series with a good concept mostly reasonable story lines with predictable characterisations forming the main cast.

This show is consistent with it's budget, acting, and CGI. It has an early 2000's maybe late 90's vibe to it. It's not amazing but it's good. I actually like the story and though like I said, it's consistent. You have decent actors and decent CGI. There is 1-2 poor actors but they are not lead roles so it's not going to screw up the entire show. I'm interested to see how season 2 works out.

Hmm. Well, contrary to some of the reviews here, I found this to be an excellent Space show. The writers seem to be taking bits and pieces from all the great and familiar Space-related SyFy shows adn incorporated it here and upped the ante. I only intended to watch the first 6 episodes tonight but ended up watching the entire season.

For me the best part of the show was when the [spoiler]patronizing, condescending, arrogant, manipulative, power-hungry Helena was killed[/spoiler]. Man, I really hated that character.

This is a low-budget show with 90's style CGI but the storyline makes up for it.

1-3 = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6 ❤ = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8 ❤ = I expect you will like this too
9-10 ❤ = movies and TV shows I really love!
