I just finished the whole series and apart from ep 9 and 10 it was amazing! I really liked the story and the fighting, probably one of my fav marvel stories so far. I'm not into the comics so i have got no clue if they stayed true to the story or not. But for a tv show it was awesome
IT'S. WORTH. IT.
Don't listen to the critics. Just give this a try and watch it. I watched this in two days, and I must say, the story is compelling and you'll find lots of interesting characters.
If your a fan of the other Defenders series, than your going to love this show. Its absolutely fantastic. I'm not quite sure what the critics problem is with this show. When I say critics I don't mean the viewers. I'm fine with viewers not finding it to be there particular cup of tea. However, as I stated before, If your one who enjoyed the other marvel netflix shows than definently watch, you won't be disapointed. I was very warry about watching due to all the negative criticism it was recieving from critics prior to its release. After the first episode I was baffaled, and thought it stood up to the quality of the three series. I love them all. My personal ranking is Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron fist, and Daredevil. That it is not to say I think any of them are bad. So in short, you if like the others, you should like this one, and critics are fucking ass holes.
I just recently rewatched this as i am doing a watch of all the Marvels shows, i still enjoy this. They need to bring Iron Fist and Luke Cage to the MCU.
The fight between him and Luke Cage was epic.
Another great show from netflix and marvel! the critics have rated it low because it stuck with the comics.
I feel like these days people have forgotten the meaning of whitewashing. You can't whitewash a white character; that's ridiculous.
The show is extremely diverse and very well made. It has strong female and strong non white characters. I don't understand the fuss.
If you go to Rotten Tomatoes, you will see 19% by critics and 88% by audience; that definitely says something. Ignore the critics, and watch this great show.
Opposite of The CW's superhero shows, Netflix and Marvels produce amazing series based on comic books and provide us wonderful excitement. The show is super entertaining. These critics don't know what they are talking about. This show is made for the fans and only the real ones appreciate this more than anybody else. They need to loosen up and read comic books more, maybe we wouldn't have so much hate in the world.
Iron Fist isn’t a perfect series —and it doesn’t pretend to be. But it’s also far from the disaster many claimed it was. With its ups and downs, it’s an entertaining show that expands the more spiritual and martial corner of Marvel’s Netflix universe and keeps you hooked enough to want to see how it ends. The biggest issue isn’t the protagonist or the fight choreography (though they could have been better), but rather the wave of bias it’s carried since before anyone even watched the first episode.
Danny Rand is a tough character. The story of a lost heir returning as a warrior monk with superpowers isn’t immediately gripping unless you connect with him early on. Finn Jones does what he can with the material he’s given. He doesn’t always shine, but in some moments, he manages to convey the inner conflict between his mystical training and the harsh reality he comes back to. Still, the heart of the show isn’t really in him —it’s in Colleen Wing.
Jessica Henwick’s Colleen is Iron Fist’s real strength —in every sense of the word. Her presence, charisma, and character arc elevate the entire series. Every time she’s on screen, things get more intense, more grounded. It’s no surprise that many fans wanted her to carry the Iron Fist mantle —she truly earns it.
Season one struggles with pacing, dragging certain plots and falling short with some villains. But when it works, it works well. And season two is a clear step up: tighter, more focused, and finally digging into Danny’s inner motivations. The fight scenes also improve —still not on Daredevil’s level, but better executed and more coherent.
One thing Iron Fist deserves credit for is its attempt to offer a different tone from the rest of The Defenders. It’s not as street-level as Luke Cage, nor as psychologically dark as Jessica Jones. This one leans into mysticism and identity, and while it doesn’t always hit the mark, it dares to be different —and that’s refreshing in a universe that often reuses the same formulas.
Yes, its execution can be flawed. And yes, it sometimes feels like a missed opportunity. But when you put aside comparisons and backlash, what’s left is a watchable show with compelling moments —and a standout supporting character who deserves her own spotlight. Iron Fist may not be the crown jewel of Marvel’s TV slate, but it certainly doesn’t deserve the hate. In a sea of cookie-cutter superhero series, at least this one tried to be something else.
I am fan of the show, they got the spirit of the story and it is hard to pull of the Iron Fist right but Netflix is doing a great job with Marvel, Daredevil was a hit and I really liked Luke Cage, Jessica Jones was a bit on the darker side but still good.
The Iron Fist is a bit on the complicated side because they are still defining who the Iron Fist is, and season 2 will be a bit more established and they can really jump into it.
And not to forget they already set it up for The Defenders so all leading characters from the four Netflix/Marvel Shows will be in one which I hope will be an action packed epic show, with a worthy adversary to boot.
I hope Netflix keeps up with the great original work they are doing and we want more from Marvel.
The show has problems but no that big, I don't understand the critics is a very well done show. Some times it feels rush or cheesy, but over all is very entertaining and well acted, I like it a lot.
