Escape the Night

Season 4 only had 10 episodes, not 12.

We're escape room enthusiasts so we binged the whole show, all four seasons, because we were in love with puzzles, settings, and props. The show itself is pretty camp. Although it claims to be unscripted, it is obvious that it at least has a basic script that the people follow. It is also obvious some of the lines are fed to people to keep the action moving. The acting is so, so bad - please let that be acting because other otherwise it makes me cringe to think about being around these people in the real world. Joey, the "creator" and link between all the seasons is pretty but not very bright and it seems doubtful that he dreamed up this show on his own. I do wish the players would have been required to maintain their characters more. The roles given to them seem silly once you realize they actually don't have to adhere to the character at all. It's a funny title to show on screen. Overall, if you have nothing else to watch and can turn your brain off during the non-puzzle segments it's a fun little watch.
