The Twelve

Its ok. The show got some good moments and some bad ones. I hoped for something else though when I read the short description on netflix.

The story of this show is good. It's a trial with plenty of unexpected twists and you don't find out the truth till the very end of the series.

HOWEVER - the acting is the worst I've seen in a long time -it's painfully bad. Never mind the fact it's dubbed into English, you just know they haven't a clue how to act. ALSO, the dialog especially between the various jury members is painful to watch. A five-year-old must have written it. Combine that with the bad acting...

We get some insight into about half of the jury members - what's going on in their home life etc. We don't need to know one minute of this. The entire series could easily have been condensed into 3 or 4 episodes just in the courtroom and this would have been a very good series, instead, it's drawn-out to 10 episodes. If they'd done it properly this would have been a 9/10, but as-is it's no better than a 5/10

Good acting and production values. However, very hard to find likeable characters or even anyone to root for. Also, the mistery is really only unveiled to the audience by lazy flashbacks here and there, not because the story or investigation or trial evolves.

The show is actually really good, with a lot of twists. And, as a brazilian, I appreciate they had actual brazilian actors, speaking brazilian portuguese, instead of actors who just try to say something in a language they don't understand.

Have to disagree with SpeedDemon's comments about the quality of the acting. I thought that the acting was excellent and pretty much all of them could have been real people (if that makes sense!). I enjoyed the series very much.

Edit: I watched it in Flemish with English subtitles - might that have made the difference?
