Welp, looks like even a six week long Rick and Morty hiatus isn't enough to stop good ol' Justin Roiland from finding ways to disappoint me. This was really lame, with only about half of the shorts actually being decent while the other half were pretty abysmal. If I had to quickly rank and review them, it'd probably be:

1. Bet It Was Beccca - Stellar animation, super imaginative imagery and a pretty funny ending joke make this one the clear winner for me
2. An Alien Halloween - Super good, loved how fluid the animation was and the fight was really creative visually
3. Slaughter Cafe - Really liked this one, loved the Salad Finger style and the idea was super creepy
4. Rightbehindyouton - Not really all that creepy, but super funny concept and execution with some great visuals
5. Camp Lake Death - Pretty solid one, although the bit near the ending was really obvious.
6. Banana Party - Pretty middle of the road, but really liked the idea and the animation was pretty solid
7. Plopsie and Friends - Definitely a nice change of pace visually, but wasn't really that interesting and feels really lame, especially considering the fact that we just got new DHMIS content like two weeks ago.
8. The Dreston - Really loved the JoJo stuff near the end but this one just didn't have enough Halloween in it
9. Shitty Betelgeuse - A big meh, funny idea but really boring execution
10. The Creek Down the Street - Loved seeing Michael Cusack here, but this one was just really stupid.
11. Slashtronaut - Sort of cool idea, but hated the teen characters and thought the pacing was all off
12. The Killer Bathtub - Amazing animation, but the short itself was just nonsense and didn't really scream Halloween to me
13. Megahex, Devil's Night - This one was so horrible, I didn't enjoy a single joke or visual bit. Apparently its based on some pre-existing graphic novels or something, so now I know to avoid those like the plague

Besides the shorts, there are also wrap arounds featuring Justin and Zack going on a silly Halloween adventure. I was really mixed on these, as they were sometimes pretty funny and entertaining but also sometimes really annoying. Did we really need this much stupid meta talk in a Halloween special? Either way, this special was a pretty big misfire and I really can't recommend it. Hope the second half of Rick and Morty Season 6 will be better.

The shit I watch for Joel Haver. That said, his short is easily the funniest, with Tom Kenny delivering his material, it's gold. Bet It Was Becca has excellent animation and visuals, and is so committed to its bit I had to laugh. And An Alien Halloween Claymation is, in typical Lee Hardcastle fashion, immaculately made and full of great action. They're well worth a watch. The rest of the shorts range from fine to obnoxious, and the framing Roliand device is intolerable but what else is new? Just skip around to the three shorts I mentioned and you're good.

Wished this was better. It has some great moments, but for the most part seems to be a cash grab. Disappointing.

An otherwise solid collection of shorts is held back massively by an exhaustingly obnoxious Justin Roiland narrative inbetween them. Not helping matters is that none of the shorts are exactly their respective creator's best works, and while they'd all be solid on their own, stitched together the way they are, they quickly start to feel a bit much, especially since they all share a similar sense of humor. These legit would have just been better as YouTube uploads, so as is the Paloni Show just ends up feeling worthless by design.
