I peeked at some comments, and can't argue with the negativity around this, but I enjoyed it. Yea, goofy plot, ineffective sub-plot with the mole, and some cringe-worthy dialog - but the ending scene
including the landing, Daryl's death, and Madolyn blowing away the bad dude
was really cool.

It’s a thriller that is fairly enjoyable.

You may have to suspend some disbelief when watching it, but it’s well-acted, even with a pretty lackluster script.

The movie is basically confined to one setting for the entire duration, so it’s fine.

No masterpiece tho.

This is a very claustrophobic film in the sky. Gibson did well making the story impressively watchable. Kudos to Mark Wahlberg playing an absolute disgusting villain. I found Topher Grace's character was just an extension of his 70s Show as an adult, but he brilliantly made hia character annoying and at the same time very human.

The impressive part is Gibson made this film as a metaphor of current political situation in America. It had a stoic authoritive figure who just got back in government position , trying to safely land the plane. It had a regular man who just wanted to keep himself alive and survived the turmoil. And it had a disgusting man who wanted to kill the regular people to be paid and stayed in control of the plane as rhe only person who could fly the plane.

Sounds familiar?

“Flight Risk” is a simple yet suspenseful thriller with a fresh take on the “protect the witness” trope. Mark Wahlberg, Topher Grace, and Michelle Dockery deliver solid performances, with Dockery standing out in her role. The tension builds through standout moments like a near mountain crash and a stabbing, supported by a snowy, remote Alaska setting that enhances the atmosphere. The dialogue drives the narrative effectively, and while it’s not groundbreaking, the film delivers an enjoyable, fast-paced experience worth a rewatch or two.
