Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum

10/10 must watch, can't recommend enough

Really liked it,cute in the beginning as felt the end totally creepy. That sound....

I have seen a lot of horror movies in my life and i mean a lot. For years I have been waiting for something to fuck me up. I stumbled upon this movie, watched about an hour of it then it's entire tone changed. Think if The Blair Witch Project had a baby with Ju-On. And after that fucking hour, something happened to me. They dragged me in their found footage game and they pulled me in hard. At a particular scene I started sweating a lot and going dizzy. I almost fainted of fear. I had to stop and finish another day. That was my experience with it, I have no idea what happened. I hope if you are looking to get scared you will find that this movie will do if for you just as it did to me.

The scat man ghost really broke the mood but other than that really solid movie

I should mention that I had pretty low expectations as I'm not typically a fan of found-footage type movies and yet I quickly became very invested in what was going on and although the premise is very simple it still worked extremely well

I still can't get that ladys face out of my head. The eyes and those noises? no sir, no ma'am. Fuck that shit. I don't usually look away when watching horror movies but I genuinely felt like she was staring into my soul bro

First half hour or so of the movie is slow but I quite enjoyed the rest of it. Doesn't resort to cheap jump scares, actually had me feeling a bit creeped out!

Super creepy, ESPECIALLY with the flashlight scene right outside the asylum. One of the creepiest scenes I've ever seen in a while ngl

Shouldn't have watched this before going to bed i'll admit when I woke up during the night I turned the lights on. I don't really get scared anymore by horror movies but this one's terrifying. It starts off really slow but as soon as they enter the asylum things get serious. That asylum is creepy as hell! The story leaves much to be desired and it's not original in the slightest but it sure is effective on the scares and it uses every found footage trick in the book.

Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum is one of the better found footage film out there. I know it isn't a horror sub genre that is held high but I'm always interested if they do something original. In Gonjiam they use face cams which I liked, I liked the tension and they way they let us get familiar with the Asylum, they have a very, at least to me, scary scene with a bone-chilling slurping sound. A very scary naked man and some decent acting.

Even if you aren't into found footage horror this is one of the few worth checking out. The first hour is kind of happy but as soon as you reach the 1 hour mark, shit goes off.

To be honest, it kind of creeped me out and it might be time to watch one episode of The Office before I hit the sack.

Ps. if you want the full experience, watch it alone, in a very dark room with noise canceling headphones on. I dare you!
