Father Stu was a good story that didn’t quite nail the movie transition. I’m typically a big fan of anything Mark Wahlberg puts out, and this isn’t totally a let down for me…it just wasn’t anything spectacular. It’s a sad story that’s supposed to be uplifting, but it kind of missed on the uplifting / feel good part. It’s just a slow burning, true story that’s nice to have a deeper dive on. Is it worth watching? Sure. Could I have read about this story and been equally impacted? Absolutely.

Such a great/emotional/inspiring true story and a perfect actor to fit the role. Overall premise of the film is great, but the middle and climax was certainly a bit drawn out (a bit too long). The initial set up of the story line could have gone into more depth and felt like all the key points of the story were a bit rushed. However the premise itself was very entertaining and intriguing as its about a young man who is struggling with getting his life together that ends up finding God through an unconventional and random way by being fixated on picking up a young lady who happened to be very involved in her church.

It was a good story.
