Are we watching the same film? This was hilarious!! It’s quite hard nowadays to find a movie that actually makes you laugh out loud.

I went into this movie with no expectations, and I was completely blown away. The sheer number of times I found myself laughing uncontrollably was impressive, and the way the film seamlessly weaves in absurd, over-the-top moments between clever jokes and well-timed callbacks is masterfully executed. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness in the comedy make it truly stand out. This film absolutely deserves recognition well written, over the top at times, comedy !!

Will Ferrell seemed right at home in a dad joke humor role. It was nothing outright new, but it was a pleasurable experience.

What a fun movie. I have always loved Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell is just too funny. This is perfect for a chill movie night.

That was some of the most fun I’ve had watching Will Ferrell in a movie in years. This movie goes on a bit too long but there’s enough laugh out loud scenes and jokes that makes the whole thing fun. Having just got married in the past year, this worked for us. This movie ain’t going to blow you away but it’s definitely worth of watch.

a) No, Brain, the sister is NOT Kate Hudson. I dont care WHAT you think - it is NOT her. Now stop telling me it is her!!! (But yes, that is her step-brother in the movie).
b) No, Brain, this is NOT a sequel to "Sweet Home, Alabama." Yes, same actress and same southern accents, but Nope, not a sequel.
c) I NEVER would have paired Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon as a couple. But then again, she's played the girlfriend of another Frat Packers, so maybe...
d) Ok, the GATOR scenes cracked me up.
e) Ok, so on top of a modern version of Islands in the Stream during the credits, we also get some additional scenes.

Ok, so this isnt Wedding Crashers or any number of other wedding movies with disasters, but it was cute. Setting aside that today is the anniversary of when I would meet the Future Ex-Wife (man, that guy is so lucky - his wife passed!!), I know all about the "designation wedding on a small island" theme. We almost had ours at HHI, in South Carolina. Luckily, we went with a different one.
I did enjoy seeing how well the two different families managed to enjoy each other's company, even if the Father of the Bride / Sister of the Bride had to show who was Alpha.
I would say this is a "once a decade" movie - one you see once and then wait 10 years and say "you know, maybe I'll give this a go. Especially since Will Farrell is getting the Lifetime Achievement Award..."

No lol moments but few funny bits. Way too many fat chicks. A random Indian lady appears a couple of times for no apparent reason but she seems to be part of the wedding. Predictable story. Closing credits good.

Comedies with a chaotic wedding at the center are truly no rarity. What speaks in favor of “You're Cordially Invited” is the solid chemistry between Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon. And I've actually found a few films by director Nicholas Stoller funny in the past.

But there's certainly a reason why this movie is on Prime and not in theaters. “Anyone but You” or 'Ticket to Paradise' have certainly shown in recent years that films in this genre still can be profitable on the big screen these days. But “You're Cordially Invited” is simply not good enough for that.

A bit of chemistry between the main actors just isn't enough if most of the jokes aren't funny and the supporting characters are super annoying. That's why, despite a few chuckles, I can't recommend this movie.
