[Venice '24] The Greek director presents this story in a Kafkaesque tone, especially in the first part of the story, which takes place around a hospital where a girl with Resignation Syndrome is treated. Alexandre Avranas' intention doesn't seem to analyse the causes of the syndrome or offer a realistic view, but rather to use it to create a dystopia through the staging that reflects the progressive loss of identity of a refugee family. Offering an interesting reflection on a system that forces those who want to be part of it to be fake.
