Don't listen to negative reviews and give this a shot for yourself. I love the cast, their acting, the direction, and the way the story is told. I really love this movie =)

Fixing the code so it says Harry instead of jerry would have changed any instance of H,J,E and A. Thus making most of the previous conversations with “jerry” unreadable. This is the biggest flaw in the movie. You would think the genius mathematicians in the movie would have known this too.

My name is jerry

Would read as

My nema is harry

Not bad but I'm guessing this is yet another one of those films where the book is ten times better than the movie. I got the impression that a lot was left out in order to keep the movie to a manageable running time.

I didn't hate this movie. It starts off running and shit keeps getting crazier. I think if this had ended around the 75 min mark it would have been one hell of a Twilight Zone or a fun B movie. It just goes on too long and the answers we get for the wrap up is nuts and anticlimactic.

A movie I really wanted to like. It’s just too confusing and silly. The cast isn’t bad though. Well despite Dustin Hoffman miscast.

I am sure the Michael Crichton book made for a good read. As a movie though; a great cast is wasted and the film is pretty goofy. It's like Dreamcatcher...under water lol.

> "I'm not putting in my report that I lost a crew member on a deep-sat expedition to find an alien named "Jerry.""

This is what you get when you make Event Horizon with less juice and put it underwater. The script alone is a little confusing (like it was unfinished), but it's always fun watching some of the greats do their thing.
