Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine

Many engineers from around the world gather at the Interpol marine facility "Pacific Buoy" on Hachijo-jima, in the sea south of central Tokyo Prefecture coast, to witness the launch of a new system that connects all law enforcement camera systems around the world and enables facial recognition worldwide. Conan, along with his friends Kogoro, Ran, Agasa, Haibara, and the Detective Boys, also heads to the island with an invitation from Sonoko to see the whales. He receives a message from Subaru, who says that a Europol agent has been murdered in Germany by Gin. Perturbed, Conan sneaks onto the police ship led by Kuroda, which is bringing them to the island to protect the completion work, and tours the new facility, just in time for the Black Organization to kidnap a female engineer, seeking a piece of important data in her USB drive. A terrifying howl of screws is heard from the ocean as an unknown person approaches Haibara.

Yeah my home country and Frankfurt (I live right near to it) was mentioned in Detective Conan 😍

My first assumption which of the persons could be Pinga was correct. Grace/Pinga suggested to get coffee. That was suspicious enough for me 😄

And Ai and Conan kissed 😍 That was cute :)

After several rather weak movies and with enormous ridiculousness in the plot, finally a film more in the line of what Detective Conan is and with a much more interesting plot. A pity that for the next one they return to pull the Kaito resource with the pain in the ass that are the movies in which it appears.

Just imagine a high-precision system that connects all of Europe's surveillance cameras into one platform, enhanced by a new AI-powered facial recognition technology.

This is the 27th installment in the Detective Conan movie series. The story follows a gathering of engineers from around the world at an Interpol marine facility on Hachijō-jima, an island off the central coast of Tokyo Prefecture, to witness the launch of a new global surveillance system. This system connects all law enforcement cameras worldwide and enables facial recognition on a global scale.

Conan and his friends head to the island, invited by Sonoko to watch the whales. However, Conan receives a message from Bourbon revealing that a Europol agent was murdered in Germany by Gin. Disturbed, Conan sneaks aboard the police ship transporting the engineers to the island for protection. He tours the new facility—just in time for the Black Organization to kidnap one of the engineers in pursuit of crucial data on her personal drive. Shockingly, the group stumbles upon images of Haibara, and the suspense kicks in from there.

The story is great, blending modern themes like artificial intelligence with classic suspense elements. The film highlights how such advanced technologies can be either useless or dangerous if misused.

The action is solid and ranks this among the more successful movies in the series. We also get to see different sides of familiar characters, and a new member of the Black Organization plays an important role in the plot.

A good movie for a thrilling evening watch.
