I’m gonna rewatch this to remind myself how to lure a man. Lockdown got me too comfy in sweatpants but I remember this film was unashamedly all about entrapping a man - and having fun along the way!

I'm not a big fan of romantic comedies, but I can appreciate a good romp, even if it's mostly silly, and this one is simply very likable and rewatchable due to the chemistry between JLove and Jason Lee, and just how cute they both are on their own. Hewitt's known for being such a sweetheart, and that combined with how unbelievably hot she is makes all the shit that Page gives Lee's character just roll off like water. That, and she's short, and wearing a miniskirt. And that's the main appeal of this film; the tone never gets stressful since it's all basically a cartoon comedy, save for the romantic sub plot/Page's character development, which are just as enjoyable as the humor, if not more so.

There are a lot of goofy hijinks, with Gene Hackman really hamming it up being the disgusting old codger on death's door, and Sigourney Weaver playing the shrewd and shamelessly perfidious gold-digger. Sarah Silverman doesn't get a lot of screen time, but she adds a lot in proportion, and is a perfect "faction" match for Jason Lee's bartender. It doesn't have the weight of _Definitely Maybe_, and nothing touches _Crazy Stupid Love_, but I will watch this every time I see it on.

I too would’ve risked everything for Jennifer Love Hewitt.

I remember watching this in theaters when I was probably a bit young to fully comprehend everything. This had quite a bit going on. No matter how young I was I always appreciated Jennifer Love Hewitt. She’s a lot of fun in this and brought a lot to her character. It was a bit different than anything else she had played before. Sigourney Weaver is really good here as well. I’ve never been a big fan of hers but she’s always been extremely talented. I think the script is fun, entertaining and intriguing but drags at moments. It also becomes a bit repetitive as it goes on. But there’s a decent amount of laughs to be had. I think the saddest part or maybe the most accurate part about this movie is that it feels so accurate in today’s society. Regardless though this movie is entertaining enough and has a gorgeous Jennifer Love Hewitt.
