>*"Time to get freako!"*

If you like *Gremlins, Leprechaun, Munchies, Ghoulies, Chucky*... well you're in for a freako fun treat! Also made me think of *Sonic* for some reason. This movie feels like it was made in the 80's and somehow not released until now. The one-liners, the vibe, the look, the music... it all screams 80's. Frankie Freako, Boink Bardo and Dottie Dunko are so fun and entertaining they're the kind of characters that spawn a franchise.

So refreshing seeing puppets/animatronics being used and I was surprised to see so many in the movie, dig all the designs. Saw some miniature sets and lots of cool practical effects. Not really any kills which is weird for a horror movie. I didn't expect any world-building at all so I was surprised when it expanded to Freak World, that was the best parts of the movie I wish we stayed there a little longer. President Munch was a fun villain and poor Crunch, at least he got the rest of the day off.

There's a few dumb moments of people not looking at what they're stepping on that was a bit frustrating but whatever. The main human character can get a bit irritating but he grew on me in the second half. Really cool final villain, impressed with the suit. What an incredibly ridiculous final twist that feels like it was added in the script last minute but it fits within this ridiculous movie. Bring on the sequel!

This was a very very strange movie. I think it reminds me of Pee-wee's playhouse but the r-rated version that never made it to TV where the dolls just went crazy and did what they wanted.
