A lean and mean 94 minutes of animal attack horror that descends into a brutal backwoods nightmare that is completely unexpected. The backwoods dread feels very real in this one. The menace and terror are captured unbelievably well and the isolated setting made for an ideal horror film. All the deaths and traps are simply excellent. Consistently rock-solid performances and a great atmosphere, also filled with a lot of action and more than enough gore to satisfy just about any gore enthusiast, you have a film that never fails to grip the attention. That one guy and the dogs truly deliver a coldblooded, menacing, and unforgettable villain.

All over the place. Starts off dramatically in a boys prison, before becoming a goofy chav version of The Most Dangerous Game. Some acting is strong, it can be funny in a sick sort of way, but the characters are poorly defined or non-existent so there's nothing to engage with. The slasher bits are few and feel out of place, with only one effective kill. Overall it's lazy, with shots of trained German Shepard dogs running in a field being a good portion of the "action".

Even the start didn't make sense. How did the guard enter the room and not notice one guy was missing or that sometimes more than one people are locked up in cupboards? He cant count? This movie wanted to be really brutal from the start. It's a load of stupid chavs being sadistic assholes for the sake of it. Don't get too excited! So a character gets killed and there is a consequence. The rest of the losers are sent to the island. Wasnt it the same character that died that the guard failed to even recognise exists? Once on the island one chav says 'what the fk are we doing here anyway?' Er maybe it had to do with two chavs taking a piss on a dude who then killed himself. And why did the guard go with them? Is his job solely to babysits the idiots? Punishment on the Island includes crossing a log bridge which ends up in everyone jumping in some water and having fun. Justice! One guard is enough by the way. Yeah. So soon the lads meet some girls...... as you do. A sadistic chav and a girl have sex... because women like thick criminals and the guard is doing a great job. Oh and the one single phone goes missing. It goes on like that....
Seriously, who cares about these characters? So basically were left with some gore between listening to terrible characters in a stupid setting. And the music sucks.
This movie is so dumb it's insulting and embarrassing. The dialogie doesnt help either with all the annoying 'innits, mans and bruvs.' Eden Lake did way better with simular characters.characters .
