A brutal, stripped back revenge flick that doesn’t waste your time.

A Working Man doesn’t pretend to be anything it’s not and that’s exactly why it works. It delivers violence with purpose, tension with weight, and a lead performance from Statham that reminds you why he’s still one of the last real action stars standing.

This isn’t some polished Marvel knockoff or a wannabe Oscar bait drama. It’s raw, focused, and unapologetically direct. The world’s gone soft this film hasn’t. The pacing is tight, the score punches through, and when the action hits, it hits hard.

Yes, it’s stylized. Yes, it’s gritty. But underneath the brutality is a story about justice, loyalty, and a system that’s lost its soul. Stallone’s influence is all over this old school DNA in a modern world, refusing to play by sanitized rules.

If you’re after another lazy Netflix background movie, look elsewhere. If you want something with blood, bite, and no filters this is it.

As always with most jason statham movies, it's really entertaining filled with good fighting and shooting scenes, I loved the movie, it's great overall for action lovers, all the people who watch and enjoy these types of movies are here for the action and not the story.

Good movie to relax. Everything that was expected from the actor happened, from action, combat, etc.

Fun action movie. Statham is an ex military guy and uses his skills to track down the location of a girl. Killing everyone in his path. Evidenlty this is based on a book series so there could definitely end up being a few sequels. If you like other Jason Statham movies you'll like this one.

A Working Man doesn’t try to fool anyone — it’s a Jason Statham film, through and through. If you’ve seen any of his previous work, you already know the drill. A tough guy with a dark past, loyal to a fault, forced to use his fists (and whatever else is handy) to rescue someone close to him. The formula repeats itself with few surprises, but it works — because Statham always delivers.

This movie isn’t here to reinvent the genre. It doesn’t need to. It offers exactly what it promises: solid hand-to-hand combat, chase scenes, nasty villains, and a hero who won’t stop until he’s put things right. The pacing is decent, the action feels physical and grounded (no CGI overdose, thankfully), and while the story is old as time, it’s enough to set things in motion.

Is it original? No. Does it offer dramatic depth? Not really. But the film’s greatest strength is in its honesty — it knows what it is and never pretends to be anything else. There’s something comforting about watching an action flick that embraces its clichés without apology. And although the supporting cast doesn’t stand out and the script is flatter than a boxing ring, the essentials — action, revenge, and Statham — are all there.

It may not be memorable, but A Working Man delivers exactly what fans come for: a solid dose of classic action, Statham-style. The kind of movie that lets you switch off your brain for a while and enjoy the ride — with a grin of satisfaction.

'A Working Man' is imperfectly very good. I do have a couple of issues with it, but all in all I have to say that I did enjoy this to a fairly strong degree. Jason Statham seldom disappoints in an action thriller, I'm a fan of his so was always likely to get the required fun out of this.

Statham is great, naturally without him the movie would be vastly less entertaining. Away from the former British diver (still can't quite believe that's the same guy!), there are too many characters - which is one of the issues I have. There didn't need to be so many peeps in this.

Even so, those onscreen are all decent enough and none register as overt negatives in my mind. David Harbour does well in a small role, he usually speaks the same way in roles but this feels minorly different. Michael Peña and Arianna Rivas are solid, as is Jason Flemyng.

The latter's character should've be the only bad guy in this, or at least one of a few. He gives enough that we didn't need anyone else in my opinion, especially as 'higher-ups' Andrej Kaminsky and Maximilian Osinski give weaker performances. Chidi Ajufo is the best of the rest.

My other issue lies with the run time. I guess with so many characters it did need to be almost two hours in length, however you could've told this story within 90 minutes without a doubt. But again, as noticeable as that and the other issue is, it at least doesn't hinder much for me.

If it wasn’t for Jason Statham this film would die on its arse. But hey, it’s Jason Statham, so therefore it’s a great and brutal movie much like sly, arnie, JCVD during the 80’s and 90’s. Loved it despite the usual weak plot and so on. If you like mr S watch it, if you want deep and meaningful plot lines and scripts go elsewhere.

It’s exactly what I hoped it would be, though it could have used more signature Jason Statham insults.
