After n-th rewatch I'm still totally enchanted by this film. Almost deadly level of imagination, beautiful animation and extremely well crafted and intelligent story telling. Count me in.
Omg! I didn't expect that this anime movie is so beautiful! What a master piece. I'm so glad of what everyone and everything was done on this. The story! The characters! The animation! Kamzamida!
A wonderful masterpiece!! One of the best anime films. Simply beautiful.
Simply put its a beautiful masterpiece in all departments and it never gets old as I have rewatched it multiple times and still enjoy it thoroughly.
Watched this for the first time in a decade and, wow, nostalgia hit me like a train. I actually saw this as a kid, and it freaked me out back then, but even as I rewatched, those old memories lingered in a really magical way. I think part of the beauty of this movie is how it touches on nostalgia and childhood wonder, not just for me, but in the way the whole story is told. It really captures that sense of a child’s dream, or a daydream: mysterious, sometimes scary, but always enchanting and full of meaning you can’t quite pin down.
The animation is absolutely gorgeous, still jaw-dropping after all these years. Every character, no matter how small, feels alive and mysterious, like they have a whole story of their own. I love how the movie doesn’t explain everything, leaving you space to wonder and imagine, just like when you were a kid. There’s so much subtle messaging here, especially about growing up, finding yourself, and learning to take responsibility, but it’s never preachy. It just lets you experience the journey alongside Chihiro, who goes from lost and scared to understanding her values and what’s really important.
I think what really got me is how Spirited Away manages to be profound without ever forcing its message down your throat. The sense of wonder, the visual spectacle, and the mysterious, almost dreamlike logic all combine for something that just sticks with you. The soundtrack, too, is incredible and perfectly fits the vibe.
I’d recommend this to literally anyone, there’s just something universal and impossible to dislike about it. For me, it’s not just nostalgia, this really is a masterpiece.
Love everything about this animation, except maybe the frame rate (but seems poor frame rate is even expected these days).
love the story line, love the pictures, love the directing
