This came out when I was 15 years old and I remember just falling in love with it. It was my first favorite movie and made me aware of Martin Scorsese. Now watching it for the first time in a long time it still is absolutely amazing. One of my all time favorites. The entire star studded cast are all on their A game. Jack Nicholson is especially fantastic. Leonardo Dicaprio, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen, Vera Farmiga, Anthony Anderson and Alec Baldwin are all really great too and it so crazy how many big names there are in this movie. The story is great and I absolutely love the ending. I still remember how shocked I was the first time I saw it. The soundtrack is amazing. I'm glad this finally got Martin Scorsese his Oscar, he has deserved it for a long time. I hope the Irishman can be as good as this and Goodfellas.

"You sit there with a mass murderer. A mass murderer. Your heart rate is jacked, and your hand... steady. That's one thing I figured out about myself in prison. My hand does not shake... ever."

Still one of my favorite Scorsese movies and one of his most fun ones. The Departed was the first Scorsese film I had ever seen before I knew how good and legendary the man was. I was just a 18 year old action movie lover and went to see this. I thought it was awesome. These days I think it is amazing.

I also believe these days that the Departed has the best use of a fart in any movie ever. It is in the scene between Queenan, Dignam and Costigan. It is the first scene these three share and DiCaprio (Costigan) is quoting someone and Wahlberg (Dignam) says something Shakespearean, which at that moment is a fart. It never really connected with me but today it did. I laughed so hard.

Anyway you have Jack Nicholson, Martin Sheen, Vera Farmiga, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg and Matt Damon. Everyone is bringing it. Scorsese makes sure you are never bored. He's giving you some laughs, some brutal action, some tension and some epic scenes.

I never have seen the original Hong Kong movie; Infernal Affairs, but this year might be the year to finally watch them and see how that impacts my way of looking at the Departed.

Happy that I still have a blast with this movie though!

The Departed is a captivating film full of surprises. A must-see for fans of thrillers.
What impressed me most was the skilfully constructed plot, with its many twists and turns. At every turn, the film plays with our expectations, blurring the line between hero and anti-hero. 👍

The Departed is an amazing movie that keeps you interested from start to finish. The story has many twists that make you wonder what will happen next. It takes place in Boston and follows two men living secret lives—one is a cop working for the mob, and the other is a criminal working for the police. They both try to find out each other’s identities, which builds a lot of tension.

The film shows the world of crime in Boston very well. The details and the way the characters act make it feel real. You can feel the danger they face. The acting is really good, with Matt Damon as the criminal posing as a cop and Leonardo DiCaprio as the undercover cop in the mob. Martin Sheen and Mark Wahlberg also give strong performances that add to the story.

What makes The Departed special is the direction by Martin Scorsese. He pays attention to every detail and knows how to create suspense, keeping you glued to the screen. Every scene matters, and the story is exciting and engaging.

Overall, The Departed is a must-see for anyone who likes crime movies. The great acting, gripping story, and smart direction come together to make this film a true classic. If you enjoy movies with clever plots and intense drama, you should definitely watch this one!
