Decent deep ocean monster flick. Definitely pays homage to many great franchises in a great way. The story is fairly basic monster invades ship starts to merge with victims. I really appreciated the comedic relief in this one. Especially from good Marv, I mean six pack. The practical effects were awesome and grotesque. The ending especially really gave us some good monster action. And for Beck to finish it off with a “hi motherfucker!” and a flare. Pretty awesome.

I'm fine with movies not aging so well, but the blatant misogyny in this movie was uncomfortable even for me. Some really bad directorial work in places, and odd editing. The creature was cool and puppeteered nicely when it was fully formed. I really enjoyed Peter Weller's and Richard Crenna's acting, but the rest of the cast were awkward.

Felt like a cheaper underwater version of Alien, but still worth the watch

I remember this movie being better than it really is. Its on the tacky side with a few decent kills. The finale is pretty laughable, they escaped but now there are sharks.

It's okay. Bit like aliens but without a good climax

Alien + a dash of The Thing + topped off with just a sprinkle of Jaws at the bottom of the ocean.
