This would have to be one of my favourite movies of All Time....I remember seeing this as a child and loving it then, and now 50 odd years later it still is my favourite movie ....classic songs, amazing performance's by amazing Actor's and Actresses, and the amazing backdrop of Salzburg Austria and the birth place of Mozart
I was able to visit Salzburg in the year 2000 and work for a few months and see where they filmed the movie and go on the Sound Of Music Tour which I have to say if ur able to go,go as it will bring back all the great places where the movie was filmed....this has to be a 10 out of 10..
The best musical ever thanks to the amazing work or Rogers and Hammerstein's...😁:flag_au::flag_at::flag_at::flag_au:😁

Julie Andrews at her best! The music is great. The romance and chemistry between the characters was right on. And the plot itself; the fear, the drama, the last minute escape out of the country, it was all so well done and very enjoyable. You'll not only enjoy this movie, you'll find yourself singing along!

Heard great things, got great things.

I've said it before, but musicals aren't my favourite genre - I don't dislike them at all, but if I were to rank my favourite genres they would probably be down low. Therefore, I always feel uncertain before watching them, knowing they could go either way.

'The Sound of Music', though, is a delight. As alluded to, I have obviously heard countless positive things about this film down the years so I'm glad it didn't disappoint. Despite a potentially damaging 175 minute run time, it absolutely flew by - superb pacing. I will say the last 30-40 minutes do feel like a possibly unnecessary add-on, but it all still makes for entertaining viewing.

How about that soundtrack? So many songs that have seriously passed the test of time in terms of relevance, I had practically heard of them all before despite never setting eyes of the film until now. "My Favorite Things" is the standout in my opinion, but all the music is excellent.

Julie Andrews is terrific in the role of Maria, I will say early on I thought she might've been annoying given how excitable she is, but she quickly becomes great to watch throughout. Christopher Plummer is impressive, also. Those two are the clear stars of this, but all the other cast members do worthy jobs too.

It's, so I read, not completely true to the real life story of Maria von Trapp & Co. However, all I care about is whether it's an entertaining film - which this undoubtedly is. A must-watch!

This is just a delight to watch. The songs are all wonderful. I've heard them all before but now that I've actually seen the movie I think they are even better. The dancing is never too over the top like other musicals. Julie Andrews is simply perfect in this role. Christopher Plummer, which is weird seeing young, is great too. The ending parts with the nazis was darker than the rest of the movie and I wish this would of been cut. I just wanted a happy musical but still this is one of the best.
