First time seeing Annie and I'm impressed. Unlike many musicals it feels truly cinematic, rather than a 'stagey' production (Guys & Dolls, Mary Poppins, etc) Definitely more than I was expecting it to be. Great performances all round.

Based on the Broadway stage musical, a red-headed orphan named Annie, who’s desperate to escape the orphanage, is selected to live with a billionaire for a week and brings new live and energy to his home. Aileen Quinn is perfectly cast as Annie and gives an iconic performance. In fact, the whole cast is quite good; featuring Albert Finney, Carol Burnett, Tim Curry, Bernadette Peters, and Edward Herrmann. Additionally, the musical numbers are well-choreographed and dynamic, and the songs are incredibly charismatic and fun. Wonderfully entertaining, _Annie_ is a delightful family film.
