Heavy Metal 2000

A complete abomination. I wouldn't say they wrecked the legacy of the original but they sure as hell tried.

Uninteresting plot, mediocre voice acting, only alright sound track. Animations aren't very impressive, and a weird mishmash of drawing and CGI. Not nearly sexy enough to make up for its shortcomings.

A sequel in the loosest terms possible. Despite being one, consistent story, this somehow comes across as even more dissonant story-wise than the anthology-based original. And God is this film so ugly, and its hardly held up with how utterly lame the story is. With that said, wow was I taken aback by how much people hate this, namely cause to me its way too boring to be worth hating. I'm guessing its cause it marketed itself as a sequel to a cult classic... Or the constant sexual assault on basically anything with a pulse, that was pretty bad. But yeah, this is awful and so unbelievably lame- it doesn't even have a good soundtrack, the bare minimum I'd expect from this franchise. Your best bet is to just skip this and pretend it doesn't exist.

I can't recall many movies as boring or as dull as this one. I think what struck me the most was the awful music and the accompanying lyrics. So bad! I'm a lover of Rock music and this was so generic. The animation was rarely good and the early CGI inserted throughout was unnecessary.

This is a tedious, shrieky, muddled, unfortunate project. Shouldn't a Heavy Metal movie be goofy, blushing, guilty-pleasure fun? There is no fun here, alas.
