Sophie Scholl: The Final Days

In 1943, as Hitler continues to wage war across Europe, a group of college students mount an underground resistance movement in Munich. Dedicated expressly to the downfall of the monolithic Third Reich war machine, they call themselves the White Rose. One of its few female members, Sophie Scholl is captured during a dangerous mission to distribute pamphlets on campus with her brother Hans. Unwavering in her convictions and loyalty to the White Rose, her cross-examination by the Gestapo quickly escalates into a searing test of wills as Scholl delivers a passionate call to freedom and personal responsibility.

Based on the true story of Sophie and Hans Scholl members of the White Rose Student Resistance Group against the Nazi ideology and government along with others.

This movie was based on the latest documents and interviews of the people who were there and or involved.

They were arrested on February 18, 1943 and their show trial was on February 22, 1943… and Sophie was executed first on February 22, 1943 at 5 pm by guillotine and the others followed.

Sophie and her brother stood by their beliefs til the very end…

This can be a tough movie to watch but it is a needed one for it will allow conversations and discussions to happen.

An excellent biopic about Sophie Scholl, a girl who was hanged together with namely her brother by the Nazis in WW2 for the “crime” of distributing anti-nazi pamphlets. She was offered the possibility to betray her brother and other people that she worked with, but she didn’t and faced her fate with was unusually cruel even for the time.

True story based on Sophie Scholl, who was an anti-Nazi activist and part of the White Rose movement in 1940s Germany.
It's a film about principles and bravery with really fine performances all round. The budget shows at times, with some of it feeling like a TV-Movie (the music is quite heavy handed in the first half). However, the content is so powerful it doesn't really matter.
