The Captive

Such a good movie. This is my second watch as I’m trying to rebuild my ratings library. Atom Egoyan’s writing brilliance combined with Ryan Reynolds and Mireille Enos is an excellent mix. Well worth the second watch.

Some great ! I think one of the best performance of Ryan Reynolds.

Most of the movie is a 7, or even an 8 in some parts due to the cinematography and mood it is able to convey, but I almost want to give a final rating of 6 because the not-so-good parts of the movie truly bring down the whole movie for me.

The ending is also very fast. I usually like no-nonsense endings that cut to the chase, but _this_ is just... abrupt.

Nevertheless, it still may be worth a rewatch, which will mitigate the confusing parts of the timeline jumps since you'd now know the context.

Good thriller, took a while to comprehend but worth a watch nonetheless

I had some mixed feeling after watching this movie. The first and second part were nice to watch, a bit slow but interesting. But the final part, the end, really disappoint me. It felt really rushed and I missed a few thing that were important for me. For instant, the motivation of the 'bad guy' but also the way it conclude, or exactly didn't conclude at all. Which isn't a necessary thing for me, but this time I just don't felt it. It wasn't a smashing end to a promising start.

The way the movie is filmed was a bit slow but looked good. The acting was oke, i didn't felt the intense emotions for the character of Ryan Reynolds. I'm not sure if this is because of his acting or how the character was written. Overall the first hour and a half are enjoyable but the ending is weaker than the rest of the film what really tempered my enthusiasm.

A confused and fractured narrative mar this sometimes compelling thriller.

started watching this movie a few minutes after it started. kept me interested, but they me off with the back and forth time jumps! crazy how the predators made the girls they used into groomers for other girls. ending was kinda rushed all in all it was a watchable movie

This movie just proves how the police are incompetent.
