Kidman's career won't be saved by such a movieđź™…In the middle of Michigan there is a whole town of people who imagine themselves to be Dutch. They are literally there, in caps and shoes, and the wife notices something strange about her husband. While we are being led by the nose with a maniac, everything is even not bad. But there will be no denouement, just an art-house escape from Domostroy
It's not terrible, except the ending. The ending is borderline terrible. If it was the ending to season 1, then OK. The ending to a film... yeah no.
Just really, really "standard". It felt like it should have been better than it actually was from the names and production value.
I'm always distracted by Nicole's upper lip.
Being Dutch, the main reason I wanted to see this was the title. Always fun and cringe to see how Americans see us. But then I also liked the Dutch music like the Kermisklanten of all people LOL, oh and the bitterballen.
Storywise not so bad as some are saying. It just lacked something, I don't know what.
Weirdly interesting. Is the definition of surreal psychedelic ride. The actors played their roles beautifully& naturally.Nicole is fantastic
Our story, set in a peaceful and picturesque city, follows the lives of Nancy and her husband Fred, who have a monotonous life, but even though Nicole Kidman plays the leading role, it has a hard time conveying the expected crime or psychological tension to the audience and the ending is meaningless.
"Holland" is a psychological thriller that centers on Nancy, a woman living a quiet life with her husband and son in a small town. But when her husband starts acting strangely, she begins to suspect him and decides to investigate his past—only to uncover dark secrets that could completely change her life.
The film is filled with tension and suspense, with a strong performance by Nicole Kidman, who portrays Nancy with emotional depth and realism. The direction is excellent, creating a mysterious and gripping atmosphere throughout.
The story includes unexpected twists, and the ending is somewhat open-ended—it might not please everyone, but it adds depth to the narrative.
My rating: 5/10
A solid choice for fans of psychological thrillers and mystery-driven stories. Worth watching.
Took forever and a day to get going, and when it did it slightly improved but not by much.
Like so many of the other comments it seems that Kidman is playing the same role in many many different series and movies. I didn't think the acting was that bad but the story was nonetheless predictable. And at the end it just seems like they stopped recording. It's a bit strange and left me feeling rather cold.
