Prout to be from Britain with such a nice british cast. Congrats to Colin Firth, Jude Law and Nicole Kidman for their staggering perfomance. The plot is driven throughout the entirety of the movie beautifully. In addition, there is a lot of character development especially between Tom and Max. A must-watch for everyone that loves this genre of films. Rather disappointed because I feel that the average rating on IMDB and here is quite low.

10/10 for me.

I liked the movie much better than the average rating suggest. However, as this is a true story I've googeled protagonists prior going to the theater. I know I've spoiled the movie for myself, but I prefer this as I was able to follow every scene whithout guessing what is going on.

Not quite the work of genius I hoped it was going to be. Still, it's a reasonably interesting tale, for once taking away some of the attention afforded our literary greats - Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Thomas Wolfe, E.L. James (okay, scrub the last one) - and turning some of the film's focus to Max Perkins, the often unrecognized publisher who helped bring some classic works of literature to public attention.

Not as good as I wanted it to be when it came out, but not as bad as many of the reviews. A solid 'fair'...

Genius is a very slow paste, dull and a pretty forgettable film, but it's only worth watching just for Colin Firth and Jude Law. Those two can't do wrong.
