Slugs

People are dying mysteriously and gruesomely, and nobody has a clue what the cause is. This movie is spectacular. And the blu ray looks great! I suppose Pieces is still his masterpiece but this is damn near it. The Rift is also great, but I think Slugs and Pieces alone get JP Simon into the hall of fame.

>*"Killer slugs? For Christ's sake, what'll it be next? Demented crickets? Rampaging mosquitos maybe?"*

[Slugs squelching]

This is what happens when slugs decide they're not eating their vegetables anymore... you have yourself some hungry carnivorous piranha slugs!

***Slugs*** goes in the so bad it's good category but not all of the time, it has some decent production values especially with the practical effects which are awesome. The slugs look so real I have no idea if they used real ones. Incredibly dumb characters, laughable decision making and corny dialogue but it's all reasons why I enjoyed this, it's a comedy in my eyes.

Horrible pacing and the comedy is sporadic. You get some really slow boring moments and then BAM! here's three jokes in a row and a crazy kill so it was kind of a weird watch for that. The sherif is hilarious he was there for a minute and delivered some epic one-liners but then he becomes a background character which is a shame.

It had a rough start with some flat kills but then you get the bedroom kill and that was over-the-top epic gory goodness. The restaurant one was also great. The unwashed lettuce death stare was funny, the guy with his glove was even funnier. Good third act and nice explosions. I guess the city taxes will be expensive next year!

>*"I'll shove my boot so far up your butt you'll need a tow truck to get it out."*

This movie surely gives the so bad, it's good trope a new meaning. Probably one of the best examples. Bad acting and horrendous dialogues are scarier than slimes themselves.

So, after all, I loved every minute of it!

Great example of a so-bad-it's-good movie. It had a ton of unintentionally funny moments.
