"Rise of the Legend" is an action and martial arts film that had a lot of promise but ended up being mediocre in its execution. The film has some strong points, such as well-choreographed fight scenes and impressive art direction that realistically depicts the era of classic kung fu in an immersive way.

However, the plot of the movie falls short. The story is somewhat predictable and lacks surprises. The characters are shallow and lack development, making it hard to emotionally connect with them. Additionally, the narrative seems to drag on in some parts, making the pacing of the movie uneven.

Another aspect that can be considered mediocre is the performances of the actors. Despite some solid performances, others feel forced and unconvincing, which can impact the viewer's immersion in the story.

Despite these criticisms, "Rise of the Legend" still has its merits, especially for fans of martial arts and action films. The fight sequences are well-choreographed and thrilling, with action scenes that are worth watching. Additionally, the setting and cinematography are of high quality, creating visually stunning atmosphere.

In summary, "Rise of the Legend" is a mediocre film that doesn't fully live up to its potential, but still offers some exciting action scenes and quality art direction. It's a reasonable option for martial arts genre fans, but may not be as captivating for those expecting a more complex plot and deeper characters.

This film really shows how far fight choreography has come. But to be honest, the plot was not up to the same standard.

Definitely going to check out what else Eddie Peng has done. And of course, it has Sammo Hung, in a role that he was made for

Enjoy
