The Taking of Deborah Logan

What starts as a poignant medical documentary about Deborah Logan's descent into Alzheimer's disease and her daughter's struggles as caregiver degenerates into a maddening portrayal of dementia at its most frightening, as hair-raising events begin to plague the family and crew and an unspeakable malevolence threatens to tear the very fabric of sanity from them all.

This is a top tier found footage movie and a genuine frighteningly good time. I appreciate it starts the scares within minutes and keeps upping the ante until the very end. Jill Larson is also truly the highlight here, a performance that is both so full of class and absolutely demonic.

I didn't know this was a Found Footage movie and it was fun to see one as it has been a while. This was pretty good, and I would call it more shocking than scary. Jill Larson as Deborah Logan was worth the price of admission. I decided to rate this with an extra point for the moment when
Deborah's jaw is unhinged like a snake, and she has swallowed most of a little girl's head
!!! I guess there were hints that something like that could happen, but I did not see that coming.

Like an all you can eat bone marrow buffet: you'll get what you came for and so much more.

A deliciously made found footage flick, with authentic suspense, few jump scares, and a tight story well told.

I don't watch a lot of horror films, so I wasn't really put off by what other people found to be horror movie clichés. I found it exceedingly effective at playing on primal fear, and was actually pretty horrified while watching, but in the good, intended way--not something like that disgusting _Suspiria_ remake (or a lot of the original's gory scenes.) Scary shit. --and agreed with @whitsbrain in that the end completely caught me off guard as a _holyshitwhatthefuck_ moment, as it should have been.

I know it’s supposed to be scary (and yeah it was), but the old lady was so sassy and likable
