My Little Pony: The Movie is a dream come true for fans of the television series and the brand of My Little Pony in general. As for a movie-goer, this film takes a good budget, Toon Boom, and mashes it all together to make a film that blends the positive message of friendship and the feeling of epic cinema. Twilight Sparkle, Spike, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity are all fleshed out in their character. They are given moments to shine, and when it's their time, they really shine. Tempest is a wonderful antagonist for the film, though I cannot say the same for the Storm King. I'm also not a huge fan of a couple choices in the soundtrack, but the songs are worthwhile all their own. In short, My Little Pony: The Movie is a worthwhile watch, and even if you are not a huge fan of the series, this is a good movie to get you started. Saddle up, everypony! This film is great.

This movie is great for fans of My Little Pony (like me). but for everyone else, it's gonna depend on your relationship with the show. even that being said I wouldn't go super far as to say that this is the best cartoon to movie adaptation ever made. However, the movie’s brisk pace, likable song numbers and pretty good animation make this movie more than enjoyable to be more than just a cash grab at the very most and I consider that to be a great achievement.

A perfectly fun and fine kids movie. Only Twilight and Pinkie were very gay so it’s the best movie ever actually

You know, I gave this a below-average score when I initially watched it, but after thinking about this movie's place in the current wave of animated movies, I've bumped it up to a luke-warm recommendation. What do I mean? With the rise in such classic animated films to come out like The Emoji Movie and The Boss Baby, I almost feel obligated to recommend this movie just on the basis that it didn't insult my intelligence, and is a fine movie for children (or adults who are young at heart). I give the director Jayson Thiesson credit for going all out with the material and attempting to make this a Disney-style musical. The animation notably harkens back to great kid's films like The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, the character Pinkie Pie expressing some pretty colorful and eccentric faces. The point is, the animation is note-worthy, yes, it's all digital, but the work put in deserves appreciation more than some of the shit CG-movies out now. The bar has been set that low. The music is decent, encompassing a live orchestra to fuel the rather catchy songs, the characters are unique and recognizable, and overall, wasn't a chore to sit through. Remember, this wasn't made for me, but I'm glad it respects the adult viewers who are there watching. It's one of the better kid's movies to come out, we need to be encouraging this stuff, so, if you are an adult reading this, it's a decent pick to watch... well, if your kids haven't already asked to see it.

Considering the property is known to resonate with people in unexpected ways... this big-screen adaptation is painfully predictable. Nevertheless, the spectacle of the upgraded animation compared to the TV show is a pleasure to look at.
